that's just false. That is ONE of the things they focus on but not the only thing. well what would you know :P you don't even know or play sony games

Wow MUGEN, never thought I would here that stupid statement coming from you.

My brother owns a PS3, I've played several games on it, Uncharted included.

well then I never imagined you lie or be stupid enough to actually believe what you said. Uncharted is mainly about gfx? give me a break. And you can't judge a whole library by few games

and listen this is something that I notice with a lot of ninty fans including you, you guys jump around in joy about good graphics (omfg zelda hd lookz amazinnnnng) but that is only until the competition comes up with something better, then it's meh who cares about graphics anyways

fact of the matter is sony exclusive line ups include great gameplay, great graphics etc. It's not a deal of one or the other. Have you played journey? Heavy Rain? UC3? (both sp and mp) infamous? R&C? If you think gameplay doesn't set these apart then you are just deluding yourself to the same extent you thought talking for 30mins and showing games you knew about for the other 15 was great for an additional conference!

yes it is. look in 500 uncharted threads and of 10k posts 5k are only about the graphics. surely not about the more as simple gameplay which is a weak point of uncharted. all i thought playing uncharted 2 the first time was "omfg that looks so nice" and i did never think about the gamplay because the graphics flashed me so and this is what you read all the time "omg the graphics". i did not so much read "wow that great aiming" lol

and gameplay of heavy rain? even a game on rails has 10x as much gameplay.

how is gameplay its weak point?

its one of its greatest strengths. shooting, run-n-gunning, climbing, rollings and shooting, stealth kills, pull downs, melee brawls, it has it all, and it is awesome. what other game offers as much gameplay quality and variety?

This my friends is why Sony is losing the plot with gamers. The most popular games in the world are the kind of games and gamers that Sony don't seem to be interested in. They are a hardcore company who makes games to serve themselves and you can really see how that kind of attitude follows through with their sales numbers and the 'relative' ineffectiveness of their first and second party studios next to their numbers and talent.

Ummm... Very narrow point of view.  Many people watch movies or watch sports, but it doesn't make them a movie buff or a sports fan.  Many people play video games, but it doesn't make them a gamer.  Thank you for your input, but your mass generalization causes your statements to off base and pressumptious.

Maybe I'm being selfish but I'm happy Sony still focus on the "hardcore", if it doesn't cater to the mass market? I can live with that!

Nothing selfish about it.  I do personally believe that all three home consoles have something for the hardcore to make it worth its purchase, but I will agree with you that a major part of the PlayStation3's business model is to appeal to the hardcore.  And Sony doesn't have to abandon the hardcore to appeal to the masses.  In fact, we know that Sony has plans to expand its PlayStation Mobile options too other mobile hardware manufacturers.  Now, I wouldn't neccessarily call that catering to the mass market, but it is a good expansion while taking care of its current customers such as ourselves.

I cant copy paste since I am on my kindle, but I looked at cod.

Modern warfare - 8.6 to 6.4
Mw2 - 12.8 to 10
Mw3 - 14 to 11.9
Black Ops- 13.3 to 11.9
WaW - 6.7 to 4.9

That is already a difference of 10.2m ps3 needs to make up somewhere else.

Madden also sells better on 360, as does NHL, NBA and the MLB2k series, so the sports point you brought up doesn't hold. Fifa., if you go all the way back to 08 ads up to ~5.4m in PS3 favor.

Edit: Ok apparently you were proving a point disregard this.

Anyways, I seriously disagree with them, the two best franchises (IMO) on the PS3 are franchises that started last gen, and making a bunch of games that sell between 500k and 2M does not make you about the gamer, because there's still 62M others.

This E3 I haven't seen any more exclusive games that I care about from them then in the Microsoft.

A: They have announced 3 new IPs, takes huge balls to announce new IPs this late in the gen. What new IP did MS and Nintendo announce??

B: Also, Ive said this million times: I rather have 5 2m sellers, then 1 10m seller. As a gamer you're choosing for having 5 games and 1 game.

C: Also, Uncharted is one of the biggest games out there, UC2 will pass 6m this year.

A: How is it huge balls? They're supposed to make games, nothing to do with balls, and Quantic Dream is third party so when their game releases isn't dictated by Sony.

Actually I'd be almost certain it is entirely dictated by Sony. They're publishing the game and if its a similar business agreement to Heavy Rain, it's probably being fully funded by Sony as well.

Sony now has a solid lead when it comes to gamers : without kinect 360 would have sold millions less than PS3.

Oh yeah, those extra million or so holiday Kinect bundle sales are what's keeping M$ ahead of poor Sony, the true representative of all "real" gamers.

Of course, the fact that M$ is still ahead of Sony despite having a non-existent presence in one of the 3 big gaming markets, Japan, doesn't mean anything when it comes to real gamers, right?

Touché... BUT! M$ is lucky enough to play at home in the biggest gaming market, the US, which offsets the fact they are struggling in Japan, which by the way is perfectly normal given that they insluted Japanese gamers by trying to steal Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia.

I guess having the best versions of Cave and G.rev shmups is also an "insult" to Japanese gamers, yeah? Then again, Square-Enix and Namco can't compare to these companies when it comes to integrity, because they have none. DAMN them for going multiplat and trying to sell games!

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

But doesnt sales of Starhawk and announcing games like Wonderbook say the same thing?

PS3 gamers are more like 360 gamers then some think. They want multiple GOW's, GT's, Uncharteds, Killzones (more then what they really put out).

Just throwing out new ideas blindly and crossing your fingers that the gamers buy them isnt the right way either.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
