I know this is gonna sound silly, but... I kinda liked the second-rate third party games that Nintendo got...

Hear me out. If Nintendo are going to go third party, they need to go all the way - they need EVERY third party game on board for the Wii-U, so people will consider it their main system where they can play the latest Activision/EA/Ubisoft published title along the first-party stuff.

What they got with the Wii was, as other people have mentioned - second rate ports. But something like that would work better than having a half-arsed third party showing, where some games appear but a lot of big releases skip the console - because at least they are exclusive, and some people would buy them.

I mean, I bought Sonic Colors, FF: Crystal Bearers and The Conduit on the Wii, and generally had a great time with each of them. No, the Wii isn't my main console and these games weren't enough to make it so, but they were a good enough distraction along with the first-parties to make me regularly turn on the Wii when I'm not playing PS3.

Sure, there's a lot of crap third-party stuff for the Wii, but there were a few gems of exclusives in there too - Nintendo just needed to try and convince the third parties to release more of the good stuff.

Cute Thread. From the looks of it PS4 is barely stronger than Wii U (maybe Weaker than Wii u?)  And 720 Barely stronger than PS4. I don't know, if the difference was that small i think we would see Unreal 4 on Wii U. Also Seeing Star wars 1313 and the New Final fantasy Tech demo, it looks like Devs are targeting Significantly stronger hardware than Wii U. So i have my doubts Wii U is as close to PS4 and 720 as you think.

Cute Response. My thread just details out what devs have leaked so far about the systems. I think you just think too highly of MSony and/or limiting what WiiU is capable of.

Oh, Don't get Cute now, Im hoping for Powerful Systems from all 3. But Who Are Devs Targeting With Unreal Engine 4, Star wars 1313 and the Final fantasy Tech Demo we have seen in the last week if all three Systems are so Close and so weak? PC exclusive? or Very heavily Downgraded ports for all 3 systems? I don't buy it.

If they do Turn out as weak as you think, ill be disappointed that's for sure.

PCs have always been more powerful than Consoles. I think last gen was the first time they were actaully matched at launch and they all lost a lot of money for a lot longer than previous gens.

They won't do that again. UE4 will run on all three next gen systems and PC built games will look better. In the end, we all win as we go for the first party we enjoy the most and then still get the 3rd party content we also want.

btw, all three rumors are not 'so weak'. They are more than capable of running UE4 and the games you listed. Keep in minde you can't relate those specs directly to PCs as the hardware and games are heavily tweaked for the console.

It's worthwhile noting that publishers would actually have seen the next-gen systems and are developing for them now. It's also well-known that third-party titles did poorly on the Wii, despite the massive install base, whereas the next playstation/xbox is guaranteed to have a similar audience as the current systems and buy third-party titles in the millions.

If they fail to sell on the Wii U, it will be for the same reason they failed to sell on Wii: they deserved to fail.
