I know France were terrible but Spain will be very, very tough to beat. For everyone giving out about how boring they were I think it's important to remember that every team they play sets themselves up primarily to frustrate them.

Spain just has such a scary midfield, especially in defense. All the midfielders are pressing, there is no room for anyone, so most teams can't even reach their midfielders when playing against Spain, which really just makes the other team look silly and terrible.

That probably is one of the highest form of defence arts, but as there is no threat to Spain and due to their countless safe passes when in possession there is no perceived threat (in reality they often can open up most defenses in the blink of an eye) to the other team either for most of the game it just makes it little exciting to watch for the neutral spectator imo.

Portugal - Spain

What a hard game will be for both teams... i hope Ronaldo is inspired.

Couldn't agree more, though that also has it's downsides, as I said before. They have to rely a lot on that ability to mask their actual defensive difficulties once the ball is near their net.

Plus, that also creates a lot of strain and fatigue for their midfield. Usually, that's a non issue for them, because the opposing team hardly makes the Spain midfiled run for the ball with safe passes of their own, but when they face a team that does that, they really start to show that fatigue and their pressure diminishes a lot.

Patience and quickness in the offensive transition are probably the only true weapons capable of defeating Spain (as they've shown that they can be defeated), I just hope Paulo Bento and the portuguese players have learned their lesson and be smart when the match comes this wednesda.

Looks like a Spain - Germany Final is a lock in. It will be hard to pick the winner of that contest.
Spain should beat Portugal in their Semi.
Germany are favourites to win their Semi against the winner of Italy v England.

England to win 2-1 after extra time.

well done spain, third semi final in a row,not an easy thing to do and good goal from alonso, portugal up next and when you have a player like ronaldo you have a chance

should be fun tonight, could be boring as hell but i wouldn't care if we went through,i wonder what the italians have planned it is unlikely england will change from what we've been trying, obviously if the game gets an early goal it should change it up

we haven't really seen many red cards or implosions from players have we,i hope it doesn't start tonight, its going to be horrible watching, would love to get to a semi for a change, its been a long time

shouldn't these games be played on the same day, teams having 2 extra recovery seems a bit unfair to me,but i guess its always been the way, good luck everybody

Belatedly getting my England flags out to decorate my house. Win or lose, I'm still a bit more realistic of our chances than I was at the last world cup. Hopefully the match tonight will be one to remember (in a good way).

Just hoping I haven't jynxed it. So far, the only other match I've got them out for was against France.
