I just can't express how pleased I am that France gets to play Spain in the Quarter Finals.

It's the ultimate lose/lose situation for Platini. If Spain wins, he gets his "money" wish, but his people will hate his guts, especially if France is as robbed as Croatia were, and if Spain loses, he'll lose another of his "dream" finals.

Whatever makes Platini a sad man makes me an extremely happy one .

England may not be the bet to watch, but they're effective! So happy we won the group, Hodgson's doing us proud so far!

Spain, Germany, Portugal/England best 3 teams so far

What? Why would the French hate Platini if they lose?

Not if they lose to a clearly superior Spain, but if they lose in a similar fashion as Croatia did, with two clear pens forgiven to Spain and one of them with the aggravant of Sergio Ramos having to be sent off (because he was the last defender).

Don't you think that he has already ruffled some feathers back home with his latest declarations?

kowen is quite passionate I must say :P

That was probably one of the worst England performances I've seen in quite some time... but as is pointed out on footballing TV shows here: "It takes a great team to play badly and still win". Which we did.

Milner, Young, Cole and Johnson were all poor, Rooney didn't play well but I'd just say he's rusty and should be back to his best for the Italy match :) (Walcott also didn't do anything when he came on :/)

You remember 2010 world cup right? Nothing can be as bad as the Alergia game.

Anyway, most our team weren't good. Cole didn't have much to do, he defended when needed to, that was about it. He did have one good chance which was saved. That said, you are right on everyone else, Walcott didn't have a chance to get into the game as Ukraine had most of the possesion after he came on.

There was one link up play between him and Chamerlain near the end thast excited me. Saints products on the counter, shame Chamber got fouled.

Hmm, pie.

i don't think it was a bad peformance from us,sure its not exciting but i watched it twice and we had more of the game than you first think, ukraine was unlucky they played well but are just not good enough,

so with goal line technology then they would have given the goal but not gone back 15 seconds to say it was offside, crazy, crazy authorities, you either have technology or you leave it to the refs and the human element, you cannot have a bit of both, just take your pick what would you rather have,

so france got well beat by the swedes, not as easy as people think sweden but we know them well in england,so glad we avoided spain and get an extra day,its anyones with england v italy and great to be back in the big games as it is what its all about, the french are the type of team that might beat spain as you just never know with the french whats going on and they prefer the less physical teams

anyway can't wait for sunday the big time has arrived now,its great to be a part of it,we look ok i think and i'd say young played alright yesterday, really tried to do his job well which is not an easy one, lescott is playing well and with gerrard, terry and cole we have real quality players there,as ajesent said cole was so close to a deserved goal he plays his heart out

the ox should have put theo in there at the end for a good chance, these two players are very useful to bring on when people are knackered as they can really shift,we finally have some options, shame lampard and wilshere aren't fit as we could really do with some back up in the middle

The Algeria game was so bad I blocked it out of memory until the commentators mentioned it in passing xD

I suppose I am being a bit harsh on Cole, Ashley Young's lack of cover was the issue, he can't defend well :/

Young has not been good all tournament but then he wasn't as good end of last season as he was at the start either.

You just watch, next season, Young's possesion of the left side of England will be in doubt once Lallana shows what he can do. :D

Hmm, pie.
