A mainstream FPS such as COD on a Nintendo console is an omen yet to unfold

Oh dear ... all CoD games are on the Wii, even the first Black Ops. And by the way: The Wiimote+Nunchuk controls are superior to the standard Gamepad controls, so I hope the Wii U version will have the option for Wiimote controls as well.

LOL, I know. I own one, and for PS3 of the same game, in fact. I was just being sarcastic; My point is this thread is pointless as you pointed out it is pratically a given.

Is it really? Wii got CoD games way after the other systems did, and they were inferior versions. If wii U got a superior version at launch, i think it will hurt sony & microsoft greatly. And nothing is "practically a given" until it's announced, which is why i started the thread.

also- i hope it supports wiimote/nunchuck as well as tablet and standard controls, the more options the merrier.

Activision having a lot of money and liking a lot of money is the biggest clue to me.

Well i'd say that would be a big deal if it's true. How will "hardcore" gamers react when they realize the wii u version is in full 1080p, 60fps, with extra tablet functions, which would make it an obviously superior version...

Their reaction will be "Yes, your game looks prettier. Call me when you finally get the new maps I'm playing in my Xbox360 thanks to that exclusivity deal".

When i'm controlling drone strikes & missiles with the tablet, and playing at a higher framerate and resolution, i really wont care about some overpriced maps that 360 will have a couple weeks early. The maps will come to the wii U anyway, but 1080p is never coming to 360 or ps3. You can play it off like it really doesn't matter, but to a lot of people it will matter greatly.

I've heard a journalist say: "I know for a fact that Nintendo WiiU will launch in 2012 before a specific date, because there's this one game that will be releasing on it."

I think there's only 3 games big enough to be meant with this BLOPS2, RE6 or AC3.

Maybe you're right, we'll see. But I don't think many people will buy the WiiU to play Black Ops 2 just because it runs at 1080p (something that we are taking  for granted even though then haven't said anything).

A 'superior' version is subjective and is yet to be seen. Hurting other hardware manufacturers is irrelevant. "Practically a given" may be a strong word but if Wii, a system who was ultimately shunned by third party developers even got a COD game then I see no reason why Wii U would be any different especially when one of Nintendo's purpose in the creation of Wii U is to coax third party mainstream games to be on it. Either way, we'll see though.
