Looks like forbes doesn't like Glass,

"Demos showed a tablet being used to run plays during Madden or perform extra in-game functions during Halo 4. The very apparent connection is that the inlaid screen of the WiiU controller allows for similar functionality, but on closer examination, is this really a competitor?

It doesn’t seem like it. Why? Well, overlooking the fact that it costs anywhere from $300 to $500 to grab an iPad or one of its competitors, the fact remains that the device is not actually being used as a controller during gameplay, unlike the WiiU’s tablet screen which doubles as both. This brings up the very obvious question of how exactly one plays a game while trying to use both an iPad AND an Xbox controller. The answer? Not comfortably.

I’m not too terribly sure what the appeal is for TV and movie use either. Smart Glass is pitched as a way to get “more info” about your favorite shows and movies as you watch them, though the  idea of further distracting yourself during a leisure activity is so laughable that even Microsoft guests and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone made fun of it during their time on stage (“what if you could make a game that syncs with your tablet and phone while you play while interfacing through your PC as it’s hooked up through your oven?”) It’s all a bit…much.

The coolest application I immediately thought of for Smart Glass was when they announced a new web browser for Xbox. Right away I imagined a console-based true web browser where you use your iPad keyboard to type the way you would on a PC, and Kinect gestures stand-in for a mouse. Instead, the browser is voice-based (what could go wrong?) with no mention of any such keyboard connectivity at all. It feels like a missed opportunity.

And even if Microsoft didn’t have anything official to say about their new console, which everyone knows is coming at some point, they would have at least been wise to throw fans a tiny bone. The WiiU is going to be the talk of the show, and if Sony even gives a hint about their next system, Microsoft is going to very obviously have “lost” by comparison. It seems strange that this late into the console generation, they didn’t address the future at all in that regard."

Yes, in that MS conference demonstration it was horrible. It all looked so forced, so freaking forced, slow and cumbersome. And meaningsless.

Plus how they tried to make Internet Explorer coming to Xbox look like a smooth experience when all I could think of was "that still doesn't make it easier to freely browse on the internet".

Even Peter Molyneux dissed SmartGlass in the Gametrailers E3 show.

don't see it as a competitor either.... one is a pad with a touch screen for every game the other a possible extension you can use if you want....

i already surf imdb frenetically while watching movies or tv shows.... so are a lot of people so for that it's just an improvement on what people vastly do already.....

now about gaming especially rpgs.... i drop the pad hundreds of time to go check wikis to check maps info on enemies.... leveling trees inventory items potion recipe.... with smart glass it will be part of the game right away....

anyway the day forbes will have a clue gameinformer will be a cooking website....

smart glass looks amazing- i mean you can control netflix with it, did you see that? i mean, how was i even controlling netflix before i could use my smartphone, i can't even remember because it seems so outdated. once i can play black ops 2 with my smart glass, man is that gonna kill the wii u tablet. think microsoft will be able to pull it off with their usual amazing ingenuity & unique approach?
