Forums - Gaming - Why do People prefer to shoot People?

Let me teach you about murder.

It's fun.

It's eaaaaasy.

And you're about to learn all.... about it.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

I don't mind, really. Unless it's someone i hate.

One of the reasons i liked AC so much was because i was killing templars and i savored each one of these killings. And those communists in MGS3 too. Other than that i don't care.

I prefer not to shoot anything. It troubles me that at least 50% of today's games basically consist of "kill 'em all".
Recently, Microsoft claimed to have the "greatest holiday lineup in video game history":
Bioshock (shoot), Orange Box (shoot), Halo3 (shoot) and Call of Duty 4 (shoot). Hooray for variety.

Link's Crossbow Training is as far as I will go.

sucks to be you then.

Nah. Luckily, there's a small company called odnetniN that successfully refuses to churn out FPS by the dozen.

perhaps if you'd chose not to dismiss these games based solely on the genre they reside in, you'd realise that you were missing out on some of the best gaming experiences of recent years. such a pity.

No, you're getting me wrong (btw, I gave Bioshock a try. Wonderful artwork, atmosphere, story... could have been a fantastic adventure or action adventure game, but they chose to make it a brainless shooter. THAT's a pity).

Violence disgusts me. I can't stand brutality. I couldn't play COD4 if you gave it to me for free. To me war != entertainment.

i'm sorry :(

This whole world revolves around death and war. Just turn on the TV. What sucks is that games reflect the bad reputation man has given himself. They do that by constantly having people get shot or killed in some way in the majority of games. If we were not constantly at war with other countries or seeing people shot in cities we might not even be having these shooters. It is just the way our society goes. My point is that shooters are here to stay as long as it is a part of aspects of our modern society. It does not really matter to me because I love pretty much all types of games. Every now and then I wanna do some shooting.

PLAYSTATON NETWORK: BLOODLINEZ

It's easier for people from countries who have never lost a war to enjoy games about war. Theres a reaosn germany is so strict with its game censorship.

I find self deprciation is the best way for humorless people to be socialble.

No worries, it's not you :) It's the issue of VG violence... I've spent way too much time discussing it on the net.
