Forums - Nintendo - Metro: Last Light no longer certain for Wii U

Eurogamer

Metro: Last Light is no longer a lock for Wii U, despite appearing during the console's announcement at Nintendo's E3 show last year.

Speaking in an interview with Digital Spy, THQ global brand manager Mark Madsen confirmed that the game is not currently in development for the platform.

He wouldn't completely rule out a future release but stressed that if it did ever make it over to Nintendo's new system it would be after the main PC/PS3/Xbox 360 launch early next year.

"If it does happen, it won't sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we'll take a look at it," he said.

When asked if THQ had been too hasty to announce the game for Wii U last June, Madsen replied, "No, I don't think it was a bit too early."

"As we got along in the development process, we just really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC," he added.

"The verdict is out on what we can do to maximise the code for the Wii U, and we'll see [what happens]."

I don't think third party developers should shun the wii-u like they do the wii, its at least up to specs with current consoles and how hard can it be to develop for it considering it's not exactly alien technology (like the ps3 was initially).

ITs not 3rd parties, its THQ, i wish people would understand that. THQ aint in the best place right now, so they are not "shunning" anyone, they are doing what they can do.  Lets put aside our bias and love and look at the big picture

This is a very niche title for those who like survival horror and first person shooters. Or at least Metro 2033 was this way. If they change the formula this series will lose the uniqueness that makes it a hidden great. It did not even sell that well on PC or 360 and I would assume it would sell even worse on the Wii U. Still if you like to be thrilled and spooked this is the game for you and there are still 3 platforms to play it on. Meh.

The excuses begin.

>_> I hate when developers do this crap.

We are talking about a sequel to a title that moved 590k onC and X360 by a company on financial life support.
Terrible to see a title cancelled. But not going to lose any sleep over something that I did not want.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

And so the it begins. I can't wait to hear all the wonderful excuses 3rd parties come up with.
