If GTAIV had released further into the gen the reviews probably wouldn`t be as high as it was. The game also did incredibly good for itself selling over 20 million across all platforms. But can GTAV do better? Technically it should be better.
Do you think it can outsell or even outrank GTAIV or did GTAIV have way to much hype around it at the time because it was the first console GTA game to release this gen.

It would easily sell 25 million provided that reviews are good, and I am sure they will be.
Metacritic = not a chance to beat the crazy GTAIV scores
Sales (Long-term): I think it is possible given the higher instal base and gamers perceived lack of bangers at the end of gen (which is false)

It will do better sales wise and it will be the better game by far, but it won't beat those crazy, inflated scores.

Outsell? Yes.
Outrank? No, GTA4 reviews were bloated as frack.
I hope it gets reviews a lot lower then GTA4, cause then they would be more believable. GTA4 is hands down the most overrated game of all-time.
Will it outsell GTA4...If it releases on 3 platforms and is more like San Andreas in content...then yes it will outsell GTA4. 21m+ copies seems possible

GTAIV improved a lot with the DLCs, if they can keep up the trend it will be amazing.
