Forums - Gaming - Live-action Metro trailer shows harrowing world

Mostly live-action, the trailer offers a glimpse at the game’s visuals in a shot of a real-time city at its very close. We won’t spoil exactly how that goes down, though – you should watch it yourself.

Originally announced as Metro 2034, the game is an integral part of THQ’s more core gamer-focused line-up for the current fiscal year.

It’s due at some point in early 2013.

Metro 2033 is currently on sale on steam. $5 for the next 12 hours. I might grab it.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Why live-action? The game looks like CGI already...

Anyway, tagging for later.

Nice to see that they put down this much efforts into promoting this game. The first one was heavily underrated.

I dont understand the latest slew of live trailers to advertise games. But it was okay I guess, a good movie, but does it compell me any harder to go and purchase the game? No -_-.

Much luck to it though, wasn't a fan of the first one due to buggy game mechanics on 360 at launch.

Well it is not made only for you =p.  Live trailers work otherwise Microsoft would not spend so much for the Halo ones.  I enjoyed this trailer and I enjoyed the first game even on X360.  With some tweaks and little changes it would have been a great game.  I am keeping an eye on this one :).

Yeah but the whole purpose of the trailer is to attract buyers who are on the fence about the game - I am. Although slightly better than gameplay trailers, they are not very effective selling weapons I don't think.

I think it could be a great game, if they iron out quite alot of the bugs out of the gate, and I think I'll be picking up 2033 now they've probably patched it up a bit, I found it annoying as hell - poor hit detection, clunky mechanics etc at the time.

it's more about raising awareness than selling the actual game this far out, a good trailer CGI/Liveaction trailer can go a little viral and reach people that would otherwise never hear about the game.

It's looking really cool, almost like a Russian fallout. We'll we be exploring outside of the Metro much? I know in the first game you couldn't, what about in this one?

Might have to upgrade my gpu if I wanna run this game on high
