Iwata has confirmed by Twitter that Miiverse will be available at Wii U launch.
Iwata: Miiverse will be available at launch of Wii U. The access from other devices like smartphones will be available later.

@VicViper A big rumor indeed! If this is true, then they will have no problem reaching their goal along with other big releases like New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Luigi's Mansion 2.

Yeah, I just got the Avatar today from HappyD, and back then I was really psyched! Now, after Microsoft... meh... I need something to lift my spirits! Perhaps I should re-watch Nintendos Pre-E3 show :D

Yeah, just think of all those people with 4 hands... because that's the number of hands you'll need to use your tablet for actual gameplay. 
This was not menat to compete with the Wii U in any way. It's just one way for Microsoft to get more market share in the living room.

Well, it's not that hard to do, both threads have almost the same posts already!
And then there is the hardware conference and on Wednesday the software showcase. It will probably do 3 times as much.
