I bought Twisted Metal on release day.. Never owned TM1 nor 2. Just 3 & 4... The ones I needed cheats to properly enjoy, and didn't like too much.. However, got Twisted Metal, and, I enjoyed it... The only problem is not being able to get matches online. No one's ever on... But, the core game itself, is fantastic.
I think they need to finish fixing the game, if they haven't yet, and get it up on PSN for 29.99, or something.

I would've preferred a smaller, more focused PSN release in order to establish a solid base for future retail Twisted Metal games.
There. I didn't say the least that time.

No advertising, no worldwide release date so for the few people outside US who did know about it Sony killed the buzz of a new release, with no buzz is little word of mouth which a no advertising game needs. The same people who also had their buzz killed also got a censored version which for this sort of game raises the question of 'why even bother to release it'. Then they slapped an online pass on it so anyone who was curious and on the edge about buying and wanted to rent before parting with cash got denied, so even potential customers got given the middle finger. |

From what I hear, the online is nearly unplayable. Why would Sony advertise a game with broken online? That would be a huge waste of money since consumers would still not have bought the game. |
Exactly! I bought it day one and the game was litteraly a piece of turd. Would have been a shame for Sony to promote that!

I'm not surprised it failed, both Sony and ESP did every in there power to make sure it failed. The demo they released didn't work (for me at least) so I didn't get it which is a shame because I was looking forward to trying online and I'm sure it turn a lot of other people of aswell.

I don't think it was 'literally' a piece of a turd, but yeah, I haven't heard great things about it. |
Believe me, what I got was a piece of turd. Surely some people didn't felt like that, but that was my experience...
yes, it is a failure.
Twisted Metal was never a big seller to begin with anyway so it's not surprising.
