I think the main reason why I dont like some of the recent sonic games is because of the lack of sensation of speed. When playing some of the orignal sonic games you had no idea what was coming next and it was barely memorising the entire level.

You should go back and play the original sonic games. They're wayyyyyyyy slower than every 2D sonic platforming game since 2000. The original games had a much greater emphasis on platforming than speed, something the series has forgotten about as it pushes to just speed-speed-speed.

they may be slower but u had no idea what was coming. In recent games the camera is kind of too zoomed out though

I kinda enjoyed Sonic Colours. Wasn't revolutionary, but it was fun for what it was - and I'm told that Sonic Generations is even better.

Sega need to continue the run of games of a higher calibre, that's all. Think about 3D (even 2D) Mario games, there's barely a dip in quality at all. Compare that to Sonic's run after Adventure 2/Heroes, there's a huge selection of middling-to-poor games. Not what Sonic needed.

Still, the upturn in recent quality is a very good sign.

My friend gave me a copy of Sonic Generations for my birthday. played for a bit, and it is terrible. Sega just dont get it.

Sonic's speed dosent work in 3D.

Increasing Sonic's speed in 2D makes the game a headache riddled blur. its not fun to push a couple of buttons and watch a bunch of backgrounds blur in front of your face only to be rewarded with a B ranking.

And they need to get rid of the anime trash they've turned Sonic into. And it would help if they looked at Rayman Orgins, a platformer that trumps Sonic Generations, and want to know why, because speed is CONTROLLED not unleashed.

This is what we need, these fans know what Sonic needs:
