Forums - Sony - Dream come true: Sony and Panasonic to cooperate on OLED TVs

Turkish said:
I'm worried about Samsungs and LGs quality of OLED screens, these companies are infamous with their quality. And with all new technology it will have problems. Both Sony and Panasonic are known to produce the best LCD and Plasma TVs.

I'm sure the 2 Korean companies will not release their OLEDs this year, new TVs tend to release in the first few months of a year. This year they push their Kinect-like ES8000 series TV.

Besides, the first OLEDs will cost 8,000 euros, as if more then 100 people will buy them at that price lol.

what the hell are you talking about?

Thats just wrong.  Samsung make excellent sets and some are the best around.

Your bias is beginning to get ridiculous... you just make things up.

Sony's HX920 is the best LED tv around. Panasonics VT50 are the best Plasmas around. Samsungs best products are inferior to Sony's and Panasonics best tvs.

so at first samsung are infamous for quality, now their best products are worse than sony's best product.

lol.

even if that were true, which it isnt...  you are explaining the very problem sony needs to address and hasnt been able to for 8 years.

The vast majority of people dont buy best products... they buy the one they can afford.  In the upper, medium and lower price range, sony products are inferior value for money and in almost all cases are actually just inferior.

You just dont get it do you.

Yes it is. Prove me otherwise. Don't just say things to oppose my claims. Samsung LEDs have problems with the infamous backlight. The point is proven, I'm talking about the quality of TV, not what people can afford or not. Sony doesn't have medium or lower price range buddy. The problem they need to adress is to make products in every price range. They need to make cheaper products, not only premium.

flatpanelsHD.com  the best site for panel reviews... full techincal analysis takes place. They like the sony one but they dont recommend it...

In no particular order...

The UE46ES8000 is the benchmark set against which all other TVs will be measured in 2012

Who said they're the best? I go to avforums.com for my reviews. They reviewed the HX9xx as Excellent" and "Recommended" while the D800 only got a "good". http://www.avforums.com/reviews/index.php?parents=134,135&search_special=1

This sounds excellent. Current, I own a SONY KDS55A3000 SXRD for over four years now. It was the best projection TV you could have bought at the time, other LCD's and plasmas with comparable specs were twice the price, and the SONY SXRD rival a lot of the higher end LCD's and plasmas. Its color saturation is almost dead on prefect, and its contract ratio was great for its technology and at its time. Also, Panasonic makes the best plasma since they bought out Pioneer's plasma tech in early 2008. As of recent, I've been recommending friends and families to buy a Panasonic plasma over LCD/LED's for its superior motion flow and contrast ratio. And now to hear both SONY and Panasonic partnering to make OLED televisions is something to look out for. I foresee buying a new house in less than two year's time, and I hope to have a dedicated gaming/family room. By then, I'll be looking to upgrade my television. We'll see what happens then, and there is a lot of potential here. Good news on the video front.

Are you serious, rear projection tv image quality is about as bad as it gets, the technology is inherrantly cheap and nasty no matter how much you pay, the picture quality will be worse than anything offered by LCD or plasma, even the cheapo sets.
