so far i hate it on part 1 chapter 4 have beat 1 and 2 when they were released

like d21lewis said the controls suck and imo badly, the lay out and the response also you cant move from cover to cover fluidly like in uncharted and gears, the aiming doesnt feel good the differences in speed from free aim and over the shoulder is alot, so if you set your free aim speed where you want it your over the shoulder is slow.

so far im not liking the story either i and max are having no emotions or care for the person max is trying to find/save unlike what most are saying the game resembles the movie man on fire, also im hating the blur effects during the cutscenes and also feel there are to many of them

Oh come on you got to love that blow loving, hot blonde. I mean she has money and is suppossed to be hot. What is there not to love?

Fucking euro troll. Not coming out till tomorrow (well today technically), went to rent it on 17th, out on 18th in the UK. Lame.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I just played for an hour and a half and initial impressions are meh. It looks great, animations are great, control however doesn't match up. I guess it's natural to have some inertia to your movements but it doesn't feel very fluid the way the game handles it. The sometimes ropey frame rate doesn't help either.

Surround sound use and effects are average. The sound stage in the club scene in the beginning is pretty dull and does little to make you feel you are there. On the other hand the video effects and shaky camera are way overdone. I had to take a break from all the double images, freeze frame effects, out of focus backgrounds and what not.

The monologue narration is the best part. A bit like the voice over from Bastion in first person. Some good writing so far, finally.

I love that movie man on fire.the game is'nt uncharted and gears,so why would they make it were you can move fluidly from cover to cover. If that was the case, then there would be no point in using bullet time and dodge. So basically you hate, everything I love about the game. lol

the way the controls and response time are it makes the game frustrating and a pain in the ass to play on the higher difficulties this is laggy gameplay . they should make moving from cover to cover fluid b/c its 2012 not 2001, if there point was to keep the identity of the game instead of being like gears and uncharted then they failed with that. b/c max payne never had a cover system his shootdodge was that, they never had kayne and lynch distracting aesthetic effects, the noir feel is non existent, and there on rails sections

I really do not get some people's complaints except for the cover system which is horrible if you come out of it. It is more my type than of tps than gears lack of story and practically no skill aiming system. Max 3 is beautiful and challenging when you take off autoaim and the aiming is precise most of the time even if flukey occasionally through cover. The other way it thrives over gears is a lot more variety in locations. My point is this game is very different from the gears' and uncharted's cover system, but that is great because on top of that in other ways it is very different from both of them, which is makes it special.

You make a good point about the cover system. I'll give you that, but I respectfully disagree with the rest of your post.

I'm on the grave mission. So far the brazil location  and the boat part are my favorite parts of the game. I hope to finish the game some time this week.
