I'm interested to know,what people thing of max payne 3. I personally love it so far. If your a max payne fan,then your going to love this game. If your not a fan,then this game will do nothing to change your mind. In my opinion the narrative and writing in this game,is witty and smart and some of the best,I've ever seen in a video game. I like the diverse settings and look of the game. The game play is pretty simple,point and shoot and use bullet time and dodge,when your back is against the wall,that's pretty much it for the most part. So,far there's been some sniper parts,but for the most part,the gameplay is pretty much the same. The mulitplayer is pretty fun so far,but it's nothing you haven't seen in every other game out there. You can use bullet time and dodge in multiplayer which is cool,but it makes the muliplayer alittle to crazy at times. I think in one round,my average life span was 23 seconds. lol  Gang wars and team modes are probably your best bet,if you want to rank up pretty fast. So overall,the multiplayer is pretty fun,but it's kind of a mixed bag. So overall I would give this a 8 out of 10. Great singleplayer campaign so far,but the mulitplayer,while fun at times,has that been there done that,kind of feel. So,what does every one else think of the game?

I buy/trade in to many games,to even try to keep up with that.

Not very far in the game, but my first thoughts is it is like no shooter I have ever played. The game seems to blend narrative and action more than any game I have played before. To the point, it slows the pacing at times and becomes too much. This is because the story is dark. So far about an angry, boozing, mourning, murderous man (did not play other games in the series) protecting rich people in Brazil. When the game does jump to action it is fast paced, and unique with the slow down action and has variety. I still think it is too heavy on the story so far like Max is on the booze. Have not tried the multiplayer yet, but it sounds awesome and this game should be really good overall.

Max Payne was THE TPS franchise of the last gen. Times have changed, though. Cover based TPS gaming mechanics have evolved. Max Payne 3 still does it very well but it doesn't do a lot of the tricks we've grown accustomed to in games like Gears and Uncharted. Blind firing, moving instantly from cover to cover, diving--Max Payne just doesn't do it.

Where Max Payne shines is its extremely adult story, gritty characters, brutal graphics, and unmatched atmosphere. This game is so gritty that I have to take a shower after every play session. Presentation is just top notch, even though the gameplay fails to match the best of the genre. Auto aim, execution cams, bullet time, and other features are nice but not game changing.

I'd still give this game a 8.5/10 so far simply because it sucks you into its world and doesn't let you go. A must play.

Well my copy is probably waiting in my post box (at college so stuff doesn't come to my room directly), but I have too much work (and I am on the last level on Starhawk) to actually start it yet

I just got it. The dvd case looks nice :) I won't have time to try until tonight unfortunately.
That is if I don't get sucked in by Pixeljunk 4am again first.

Haha... It does not play at being anything, but dirty and dark.

Had to point out the game is a lot harder if you play it with autoaim off! One of the things about this game that makes it good is you can put it on hard and turn it on hard it is actually a little challenging on hard mode compared to most shooters of both the tps and fps type.
