Absolute rip off

Yup, and too many fools will pay for this believing it's a $99 console.

Oh they are in for a shock when they see those cancelation fees.

I really hope your joking. People will obviously be informed how this deal works before they decide to buy the console.

edit**People really need to read my first post before coming to a conclusion, but of course they wont because they like to ignore facts or simply don't know how to do simple math. **

You have too much faith in the human race sir, and I did read it properly.

You have too little faith in the human race. You must be a socialist.

If people actually take part in this deal not knowing they are in a 2 year contract, well that's a lesson learned. All the information they need to know is essentially on that coupon.

Even if they miss payments and are obligated to pay termination fees, they simply have to pay the remaining cost and keep the console, Kinect, Gold subscription, warranty, etc.

I'm no fancy New York City lawyer. but this isn't a rip off at all. This is actually one of the most fair contracts I've ever seen.

I should stop having a mobile phone contract, should not take out a mortage in the future or get a new car in credit, because that would be a bad deal too I guess..

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Lol at the MS haters posting this from their $400 phones that they paid $99 for and signed a 2 year agreement.

Two completely different things. Phone contracts don't raise the price of the service, just give you hardware discount. They are actually a good deal.

1) Phone contracts don't raise the price of the service, just give you hardware discount. They are actually a good deal.

2) Mortgages and car loans are for things that cost multiples of thousands of dollars. Not a couple hundred. You can easily save a couple hundred dollars or use and pay off a credit card who's intest would cost less than the amout MS is increasing the cost of Live.

Man so many people have no concept of how to handle money/credit.

Horrible deal.

$360 for 2 years of Xbox Live Gold + $100 for a console with Kinect > $120 for 2 years of Xbox Live Gold + $200 for a console with Kinect.

the console is new and not used...

^EDIT: Isn't a 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect currently $200? My mistake.

Also I wanted to just say that it's not a deal I would go into so more aptly, I should of said "Horrible deal, for me." Also a car, a cell phone, a home, and a degree are all investments in the long term.  I would like to think that you can't afford $420 for a luxury item, then you probably shouldn't get a 360 in the first place.

Pixel Art can be fun.

i think this comes with a two year warrenty,so over all this will save u money(not much but some)but also you got to think about xbox live and the good deals they have when u buy it from live itself,i pay only 1 buck month, and im happy,i myself would not buy this cuss i dont belive in protection so i never pay for warrenty, my xbox lasted me from 2008-now,and i got the slim so those break down less often now so yeah.but this is a good thing for those who dont have an xbox and hey if it work for cell phones then it can work for consoles and maybe this is a way to test out if it can work for nextbox to move more units

I was about to put this post!!

There is also termination fees aswell:

Update: In case you're curious, yes, early termination fees will apply if you cut out of your two-year deal early. It's a prorated affair, with users asked to pay less the longer they maintain the contract. Those who part ways after only a month will have to pay $250, while those who cancel with just a month remaining will owe $12. All told, someone buying this and keeping true to the contract terms will pay $459 for the bundle and Live access, whereas those buying outright could snag it for $420 (or less, if scouring the web for cheaper Live subscriptions).

Well duhhhhh....it's a contract, did you expect to be able to just walk out the store with a $99 dollar Xbox and be done with it?

No need for also and aswell in the same sentence by the way.

You will save money now.. but consider:

a) everyone and his dog expects a price reduction soon. If the whole thing gets lowered by $50, you are srewed.

b) Kinect 2 seems to be on the horizon. What if coming XMas season, everyone flocks to Kinect 2 and you will still be paying for old Kinect for over a year ? - screwed again..

I wonder if they do domething similar in Europe (the 4G Disney/Kinect bundle still is $229 so not much room here..)

I can see some of you now working for a company pricing a product. "Hey lets let customers pay for a product over 2 years and lets make it cheaper for them than if they paid for it outright day 1".

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Well I think it's good in a way that 3 of my friends might finally get one. Though it's not the way I would buy a console.
