CO2 production from increased industrial activity (fossil fuel burning) and other human activities such as cement production and tropical deforestation has increased the CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. Measurements of carbon dioxide amounts from Mauna Loa observatory show that CO2 has increased from about 313 ppm (parts per million) in 1960 to about 375 ppm in 2005. The current observed amount of CO2 exceeds the geological record of CO2 maxima (~300 ppm) from ice core data.
Over the past 800,000 years, ice core data shows unambiguously that carbon dioxide has varied from values as low as 180 parts per million (ppm) to the pre-industrial level of 270ppm.

It's quite a coincidence if the current CO2 levels are 25% higher than at any point in geological history, almost 40% higher than a few hundred years ago, and increasing at a remarkable pace to say the least, and yet we are responsible for almost none of it.

If you watched the videos I provided earlier, they talked about a published and peer reviewed paper that demonstrated that the expected temperature increase from doubling CO2 levels is 1 degree ...

Basically, in order to increase worldwide temperatures by the alarmist prediction of 5 degrees over the next 100 years CO2 levels would have to go up by 32 times their current level ...

Global Warming is fiction: the earth goes through weather cycles and patterns. It's cold and frostry here in the Northwest this morning, and we have had much more snow than usaully, and winter is nowhere near being over.

Al Gore made this stuff up, because he was lonely, bored, and depressed. He invented Global Warming just like he invented the internet.

I think that the CO2 data you cite is very much mistaken. But for the moment, I merely point out that this particular discussion is focused at the moment on actual CO2 levels [edit: and their causes] instead of their effect.

No he is not an alias for me, perhaps you should read the thread again. The videos I linked to were the ones I got from his post. There were more he linked too that had info that wasn't relevent at the time we were discussing it.

I do happen to agree with Happy on this issue however. Particularly with how minor of an impact the GHE is and specifically how small C02 is of an effect in the big picture. Which is really what is missing from most GW discussions and debates...context.

Whats even more interesting is that the rate of temperature change is no where near its greatest despite this supposed 25% higher levels of C02 as I showed you in that video.

At some point you have to see the whole thing beginning to unravel...I hope this is the beginning for you. I went through the same thing...but I will stop so I don't come off as being too condescending because thats how I took it at first.

The GW thing from what I have seen is a bunch of real data dressed up in conclusions taken way way out of context. Its sort of like the dihydrogen monoxide spoof people did..but on a much grander scale. Granted in this case there are some instances (admitedly on both sides) where data has been falsified, this only adds to confusion ultimately for people who really want to know wth is going on.
