Very devious.

not a bad deal for those who want this

Its a horrible deal for anyone.

1) The full price is $100 or more than buying it up front and that's not including the eventual overall price reduction (not tied to contracts) that will happen later this year.

2) The gen is ending and this would force you to be paying for 360 and Gold service at least a year after the next console releases.

3) It would be better to go to KMart and start a lay-away and pay it off that way or simply save the money on your own each month.

were are you getting 100 more? if they plan to get gold its only 40 more. seems reasonable to be able to pay off for two years and recieve a 2 year warranty.

You are forgetting that JUST the online services are charged for 2 years AND they are rumored to be much more than standard Gold features. If you buy a 360 for $99, you can still sell it for the new gen console if you want, plus have all your online services carry over. The $15 a month most likely includes a music pass ($10 per month stand alone) of some sort, plus some more TV/media options which again on their own would be $5-10 a month. So in actuallity, you are breaking even to SAVING money on the overall service packages, AND saving money up front on the hardware.

You people are comparing a $460 2 year total deal with a $300 one time purchase not counting in Xbox Live. Adding standard Xbox Live at $60 per year makes it only $460 vs $420. $40 for 2 years of a lot of extra services seems like a pretty good idea if you are wanting those services.

So again, a good deal depending on what the services included in the $15 per month contract actually are.

Also sounds like MS OVERSHIPPED, or more appropriately, retailers over-ordered
Guess that puts that question to bed :D

*facepalm* Just where the hell are just suddenly pulling that from again? The fact that MS is trying out a new tactic in it's OWN retail stores? O.o Unless you suddenly have some new hard data to back it up stop trolling and bringing it up in threads that are about something else.

$99 + $15/mo for 24 months  = $459

$299 (4gb+kinect) + $59 + $59 = $417... however... those are max (MSRP) prices that are never at that price.

Current Amazon price: $296 + $48 + $48 = $392
Current Walmart price: $199 (bundle w/ 2 games and 1yr live) + $139 (kinect bundle with 2 games) + $49 (1yr live) = $387 (and this includes four games)

So, yeah... with only a a few mins hitting largets retailers I find $60 to over $100 in savings. Again, this is ignoring the obvious fact that 360 will be discounted later this year too.

Its a horrible deal for anyone.

So they over-ordered their own product and now are trying to sell them on he sly.

At worst, it's a good joke, but at best it's a good indication of what happened to those many consoles that nobody seems to be able to find.
