First of all, the Mario platformers do not seem to be getting better and better to me. As far as sales go, this is also the case. Galaxy is a great game: True. I have completed the game and enjoyed it thoroughly. But classic Mario games were more popular. Mario 64 was better than Sunshine, etc. At any rate, I would love to see a mario game with a huge twist or completely different story line. I think the Paper Mario series has touched on the differetn storyline briefly. I would really love to see a Mario game with drastically different storyline and gameplay. Collecting stars is fun, yes, but lest do something different. I am thinking of something to the extent of Banjo Kazooie where throughout the game, you get upgrades (Move upgrades, item upgrades, etc.) And yes I know you had to collect Jiggies in BK, but still. Something I didnt like about Galaxy was the fact that it seemed so linear. You selected a star and you were on the path to that star for the most part (Sometimes able to get hidden stars though). I want a game where I can do whatever I want, when I want.
