Forums - Microsoft - Hard Reset: Microsoft Makes Mistake With Halo 4

@ Dallinor

due to customer experience with the game and slowing sales throughout the rest of the year.

I fully understand MW3 was a massive financial success, that being said I'm pretty sure the bubble has burst at least for this gen and Black Ops 2 should take a pretty large hit in sales in comparison.

Even the most hardcore of hardcore COD guys are coming into our stores now and complaining about the lack of change or freshness in the series. You can only put out the same game for so long before people begin to catch on.

Trust me COD will in no way affect Halo 4's sales. Halo is still the premier franchise on the 360 Halo Reach by this point is over 11 million in sales easily when you count digital downloads, thats only two million away from COD. The article is fail because while most games could be affected by something like being close to COD Halo is by far a strong enough brand to not be.

Around the Network

I personally think they coexist nicely. Sure COD will sell more but Halo 4 will still not be far behind.

In the end together it shows where the gamers are spending their money. Its a 360 win no matter how you slice it. November is 360's month

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I think they will be fine.

COD should skip a year and retool the engine so the games can actually be different vs what should be considered DLC for predecessors.

I'm not entirely convinced the bubble has burst. MW3 looks like it will sail past Black OPS total sales, it's already sold more copies on the PS3 and 360. It may be slowing down now but it opened with much bigger sales. Even if the series lost a few million customers on each console, it would still be enormous.

As for Halo I don't think COD will affect it either. Halo is of course the premier franchise for the 360 in terms of it's importance for MS. It's exclusive, it sells well, and it also moves consoles.
