Ok point taken. Sony Santa Monica Studio are great developers, and that´s reason why I would like to see them making a new IP. Let´s take Naughty dog as an example. First they made Crash Bandicoot, then Jak and Dexter and now they have Uncharted and the upcoming The Last of Us. They improved after every game and every game gave you a new expirience. And I think SSCE has the potential to establish a new IP, to make a new game with God of War quality. We have every year tons of Sequels good Sequels bad Sequels mediocre Sequels, but there were no new mindblowing IP´s like God of War 2006 last year. If you followed the GOTY Awards of the last year there were no new IP´s nominated for GOTY.

And the next point is, who is Kratos going to fight? I mean he has killed evry Gods, Titan and Monster that mattered. What enemy could possibly live up to them? The Egyptan Gods? Nordic Gods? Roman Gods(which is almost the same he allready fought)? Aliens?

OK maybe they will use a new "hero" but then who is going to fight?

And would it really be that bad to make a completely new game?

There's always other mythologies and I am sure everyone would be as jisstastic as GoW3 if we get to play huge scale shit like the Poseidon battle but with Egyptian/Norse gods. Im just saying the possibility DOES exist but yeah xP not that I personally think that's going to happen (I don't mind either way).

But ND has two teams, one working on TLOU and the other is very likely to be working on UC4 for the PS4.
Santa monica is atleast as big as ND (bigger hands down), and they can probably pull off the same thing with some support from Sony.. Hell Im not even sure if its needed, they are already assisting shit ton of other games.

So instead of abandoning GoW, why not put all the other effort (Twisted metal, Starhawk and Journey all boot up the Santa Monica logo to name a few xD) and focus on something new with help from the GoW team AFTER GoW4 lands and then repeat the same process and put out a GoW5 after that new IP xP.

You dont have to abandon a franchise to create a new IP. ND like you said is an alive proof of that. Ofcourse they probably got insane support from Sony after Uncharted 2 xD and Im sure Santa Monica has became the huge company it is thanks to the God of War franchise. So yeah, possible without ending GoW ^_^.

It is not abandoning, if they it. And they finished the God of War and it was a perfect trilogy just like Lethal Weapon the first 3 were brilliant the 4th was but didn´t really fit into the Lethal Weapon franchise. But we´ll have to wait and see what will happen.

Yeah but there's always people that will buy it due to interest and eventually want more (me being one of those).

And it's also the standard for games today unfortunately. People are not willing to take risks to develop new IPs when they know they can put out another one thats already established and sell a ton. Unfortunate reality ;(

I think they just need a whole new direction with GOW. A new start a new story..maybe even a new mythos and just maybe..a new character (tho I love kratos)

That's absolutely a no no. God of War will lose it's charm. It wouldn't be God of War without Kratos. It's like taking out Mario or Link in their respective game. IMO.

I agree with a new Mythos though. 

It will still be based on greek mythology; because there are A LOT of titans alive, some gods; and dont forget the All mighty father of the titans: URANUS.   Also in Greek mythology there are other superpowerful beings called GIANTS:

Greek mythology is very rich.   There is much more mythos that can be included in the God of War Franchise.    Also aside of the things I have mentioned; there are still other powerful entities like the primordial deities, etc, etc, etc.
