The 3DS 3D sucks.
At least compared to other 3D screens. I'm a huge 3D fan so the fact it has any ghosting whatsoever means it can't score above a 4. Add in the super small sweet spot and the resolution being halved and we're at a 2. The final nail in the coffin is max 3D is lame. I should have a slider for a reason; don't use it as an one and off switch. I'd prefer to play on my 65' 3D display not because of it's size, but because the 3D effect is just so much better.

i hear where you are coming from, but is it fair to compare what is relatively a cheap 3d experience on a handheld to that of a expensive 65 inch screen?? I would think not.

So tell me, how good is the 3D on your 65' TV when you take the glasses off?

Every game. If there is a black surface next to a white one, the white one will be partly seen on the black surface where the layers with different colors cross. It is only noticeable on big black areas though (such as the chamber of time or whatever it's called)

You mean in Zelda, the Chamber where the sages inhabit? Not doubting you, but I don't remember seeing anything weird, I think.

Another negative thing about the 3D is that it completely negates gyro controls - not that I like them that much, but still.

Damn, I got a glitchy 3DS? :(

As for the gyro, the thing is that you're supposed to move not only the system, but also yourself so that the 3D won't be affected, which of course makes you look like a dumbass

Maybe you've just got glitchy eyes?

VicViper has already shared that theory.

I noticed right after I sent that post. lol

it depends on the game. Some games like zelda and mario 3d use it extremely well while revelations use it more subtly so it depends on the game

How good is the 3d on 3DS when you dont have it in the "proper" position??

I've owned a 3ds and a samsung 43 inch plasma 3d tv. There no comparing the two, 3ds just pales in comparison. The graphics just are not up to par to have a worth while 3d experiance. Plus the small screen and narrow viewing angle kills the immersion. Nothing has compaired to uncharted 3 in 3d ( only be cause I don't have a pc capable of playing 3d games, yet). The only game I ever kept it on was Mario 3d, it seemed almost necessary at times, but the game looked better when it was off.

I actually think it's terrible..
