I love Dark Souls for the unique level design instead of the modular repetitive dungeon design of competitors. The difficulty plays an important part in that, having to learn the level layout to survive in the world is what makes this game so memorable.
I played Skyrim and Dark souls both over a 100 hours. While I can still traverse mentally through all of Dark Souls' world, I can hardly remember any of the dungeons or opponents in Skyrim.
So hopefully they mean to bring it to as many formats as possible instead of making it more hack'n'slash.

That doesn't mean there can't be improvements. They can also make it more accessible by adding some more in game information so you don't have to resort to the internet to figure half the stuff out. I didn't even know you could jump for the first 20 hours of the game.

FIX/REMOVE THE FUCKING BACKSTAB FROM PVP AND DEAL WITH BOTTOMLESS BOX GLITCH !!! These 2 things nearly ruin the whole game !

What's the bottemless box glitch?

I agree with the pvp though, especially with lag. We're circling and facing each other the whole time and suddenly I've been backstabbed, frustrating. The whole forced pvp needs to be configurable imo. I almost gave up on the game at Laural and Hardy. It took over 20 tries to get to the boss without getting killed by invading players, simply annoying. When playing alone I log out of psn to get rid of them but that doesn't work in co-op obviously. The game is hard enough, no need for grief players to invade in fully prepared pvp gear while you are busy clearing a path to the boss.

Bottomlex box glitch allowed players to transfer items from their high level character (80, 90, 100. etc etc) and use them on their low level characters regardless of thier stats. That means, someone can use Gravelord Sword 5+ while being lvl 8 and invade other players with similar levels. Of course, no one with that low level can survive against that sword

are we sure this is a glitch?  i'm playing a level 10 pyromancer that is one almost done with the game and i have fully upgraded basically everything.

OT - if they nerf this game (and i kind of think they already nerfed dark souls with the latest patch) i'm definently boycotting it.

yes but your pyromancer probably can't use those weapons due to stats required. bottomless box glitch allows lvl 10 player to use great club + 10 or black knight halbred +5 etc etc...

okay gotcha.  i mean i can "use" it but not well.  I've got a longsword of every upgrade type (not all maxed since you can't do that in the first playthough) and i typically use the lighting one.  it's amazing, btw, that it is even possible to get as far as i am without leveling up.  :)

Fix PVP and make the game harder.
Don't care about prettier graphics, just more gripping dungeons.

I agree with the Skyrim comparison. Skyrim was my GOTY, but Dark Souls edges it in some parts still: uniqueness, difficulty (I don't recall the few times I even died in Skyrim?), and online just to mention a few things. They should make the next Elder Scrolls game on-line co-op.

It's just that simple.

That explains a lot, I thought the matchmaking was utterly broken. Everytime we got easily wiped out, even if I landed a succesful hit I did maybe 5-10% dmg while they always killed me with 1 hit if not with the default glitchy backstab.
The only way I finally got through to Laural and Hardy was by clearing the way in off-line mode, then logging in to summon help and bolt for the boss. After a couple tries this way we finally managed to zone in before the current invader could catch up.
Co-op is fun but it was ruined by the pvp in Dark Souls.

Yep, fun battle in co-op if you can get there. At least when I was playing that was also the most popular pvp area.
