Rumor: Grin Barcelona worked on Strider, Streets of Rage games

Anait Games published correspondence from an anonymous former employee of GRIN's Barcelona studio, which closed unceremoniously before the main studio did in 2009. The anonymous party went on to identify two projects that were in the works before the closure: an update of Capcom's Strider and a Streets of Rage game.

The Strider game had 3D models and concept art, and even a teaser video -- which you can see above. Capcom canceled the project, and GRIN kept working on it, with the intention of changing out the IP. It was only after the failure to get this game picked up that the studio went ahead with Streets of Rage, of which we have yet to see any media.

You're happy that people losing their jobs and can't support their family over video games?

This is a very strange comment considering the industry in which we take part in. Your dramatically painted a picture about ex grin employees that you cannot confirm and then you downplay the video game part as unimportant.  That Video Game you downplayed was Grins main source of income so not only is video game importanat to me but to them also. So no its not just" video games". We are in the video games Industry for cryin out loud!

Grin was a below average developer and Im I glad they didnt get a chance to mess these games up? you better belive it.

I concur.  Would have liked to see what their Strider and Streets of Rage games would have at least looked like in action.

Well they lost their jobs so i can't agree. id rather have them just lose the ability to make those games in particular.

I understand they didn't seem to be talented enough im just saying I can't agree with being happy that their doors are closed considering how those people will be affected.
