It’s funny how some people go where the graphics are best instead of going where their favorite franchises will end up. If graphics are all that matters then why not buy a pc?

Some people are lucky enough that their favourite franchises appear on graphically powerful systems.
Those look like pretty realistic specs to me. It would mean, that we could see a very decent jump in graphics quality over the PS3, but the console could launch for $300-$350 without much subsidizing on Sony's part.
I just hope that they still go with a Southern Islands architecture GPU(like other rumors mentioned), which the 7670/6670 isn't. Maybe it's a typo and they actually use the 7770 as that one comes with 1ghz clock, but ofcourse console GPUs don't necessarily need to have the same clock as the graphics card the respective chips are used on.

For 2013 I guess a low/mid-end Southern Islands is possible.
And for CPU a 2nd gen of AMD Fusion.

While its a good app for better then basic graphics (ran wow almost maxed at 45fps) not bad. However, he then grabbed 6780(if I remember) we could not get the APU and gpu to crossfire. Can someone with better knowledge about this apu comment? If I am correct this can only crossfire with low end 6series. Also amd is working on an updated apu that works with 7series gpu. |
The PS4 components are not off the shelf. They are custom-built just for the PS4. Specs WILL vary. Expect GPU/APU to work together for maximum performance.

Don't worry, I am sure Sony will sell True HD Collections of their PS3 games for the PS4. |
Good thing no one will force you to buy them.
Anyway the only "collection" they could sell would be Uncharted Trilogy.

Gpu, sure. I doubt the CPU, though. |
The PS4 won't have B/C. Thought that was obvious?
Even an uber-CPU like an 8-core wouldn't be able to emulate the Cell. It's about more than just power.
Don't know about you but I don't want an extra $100 added on to the PS4 just to I can play PS3 games(which run perfectly fine on my PS3). I don't want Sony wasting money and trying to emulate either. That would add costs to the PS4 as well.

(speaking for myself and others who feel similarly)
We don't go where "teh grahpics are at". We go there "teh games are at".
We want our favorite franchises to look AND play amazing.
A huge gap between PS4/720 would make people buy multiplats for the most powerful console.(since it would look and run better)
IfPS4 and 720 were to be equal in power, I would buy a PS4.(since it has my favorite franchises)
If Xbox 720 were to be much more powerful(noticeably. Talking at least 2x) then I'd most likely buy that instead. I can always buy a PS4 when it drops price.

Hmm no, they may all be using AMD GPU's but both the Nextbox and the Wii U will be using a PowerPC CPU, made by IBM. The xbox got on fine cos its specs was also using a PPC CPU, and had some features that was based on the Cell CPU that is in the PS3. |
Really? Wow I guess I better do my research next time!
