British police can, and are more regularly, use tasers. They were also allowed to use rubber bullets during the London riots, a first for the UK (outside of Northern Ireland), they didn't actually come to use them, but they were given permission. It's a slippery slope.

Yes, the American police forces regularly use tasers, but at least their citizens are allowed to carry them. In the UK, we are prohibited from owning tasers under the Firearms Act 1968.

I'd rather have it that way than the way things are in other places
