I'm not saying that Wii U has worse graphics than PS3 (and I don't think so either), but why people keep referring to the Zelda demo is beyond me. Looks to me like the 360 could easily pull it off

Yeah, after 6 years of development, and learning the hardware. The Wii U is doing this in an unfinished, underclocked devkit that was released nearly a year ago. All of that and the fact that Nintendo always outdoes their own tech demos.

But they are familiar with the hardware if the rumors about Wii U being similair to Xbox 360 are to be believed, unlike when the Gamecube and N64 demos were made. The Zelda demo is not a confirmation that Wii U is more powerful than current gen HD consoles.

This is all just speculative though, and I've already said that I expect Wii U to be more powerful than PS3.

It is in the context where you take in count it was made in a early dev kit and by a small group at Nintendo in few days.

@Tomatito: We need another option: "I believe this news"

I think you need to look up the word "confirmation" if that was a serious response. Since we don't know the Wii U specs yet the demo would have to at the very least look better than in-game footage from PS3 games before drawing such conclusions.

How do you come to this conclusion when Nintendo's developers obviously didn't work on Xbox 360 games in the last few years?

Simply because the hardware would then be about seven old.

For devs who have been working with 10 years old tech?

It's not like it's some hidden tech that needs to be discovered or anything. If Nintendo want to develop nice looking games with 360 tech then that can easily be done.

It's easy i know, but they still need to learn it. I dont expect them to master the hardware just with one demo they havent done it before according to those pics of zelda and mario demos.

About the 360 achieving that i agree but will be pushing it too far.

So now it's just a Wii with a new controller basically. >_
If it is less powerful, then Nintendo has made a critical error because I don't see why anyone (even kids, ladies and seniors) would give up their current Wii/HD console for a Wii U. Virtually everyone has or will soon have a ipad/tablet anyway, it's not a selling feature. If Sony can come anywhere's close to price matching with PS3/Vita (not looking like it ATM) Nintendo is dead in the water on this.

so 3DS can handle the Zelda demo at e3 last year? Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

at least there will be a new Deca Sports, thats something right??

Lol, this is ridiculous. They are lying/false information -period-

guess i'll post this here as well

Here is something quoted from an IGN user quoting what devs have said which can be found on IGN

Now I have a good memory but some people need to format their brain just so they can fit in new info… preferable bad info

IGN = Shocking journalism.. very amateurish.
THQ: “WiiU is just a lot more powerful than current HD consoles it does 1080p very easy.”
Epic: “It will do things current HD consoles simply can't do, it's going to be a powerful box.”
Crytek: “WiiU devkits are very powerful, the specs are very good”
Vigil Games: “We had the game at the same level as high end pc version in a matter of days and a few lines of code got the game up and running on tablet in 5 mins.”
EA: “Wii U is not a transitional platform, it is a true next generation system.”
***IGN***: "Wii U 50% more powerful than PS3, twice as powerful as X360" !?!?!?! AMAZING!!!!
