Forums - Gaming - (NSFW) Here's why I don't buy games at Gamestop anymore

Whoops, meant Gameshop!

Good video.

I actually did work at a video game store briefly and the reason that I quit was because you are forced to push a bunch of crap down customers throats just like that. I would get in trouble if I didn't sell enough video game cleaning kits. :p

I was gonna say I did not know there were gamestops in sweden.

Well, we do have EBgames, which is basically the same :P

@Amp  Damn, I didn't know things were actually so severe!

I love that video, it's so true!

This is so damn true. I went to GameStop, I mean GameShop, one time and one of the workers tried telling me that Blu-Ray discs don't scratch. My friend bought COD MW2 used for PS3 that same day and when we opened it, low and behold it was scratched.

Surprised the video didn't bring up the fact that they love to sell you used "new" games.

lol, I just bought a game there today. I've never thought the one here was that bad. They ask if you want their member program, and if you say no right away, they just let you be. They don't push accessories on you, or anything of the sort.

They will often help you purchase games if you ask them to, or tell you they really enjoyed a game or something of the sort, but I actually enjoy hearing the aspect of another gamer (and yes, they will say if they didn't like a game).

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

That was more for trade-ins, but the term still applies.

I don't think I ever made it to the register at Game*shop*, always look at the prices and see I can buy the same game new for an extra $5-10, have even seen new games cheaper than they are at Game*shop*.
