I actually looked at my trophies for the first time last night. Hardly see the point of them really, other than showing people what you have played.

no. theres like 50 people on my psn list and none of them hardly have any trophies.

A platinum trophy is just cooler than getting the last 10 points from a game. So maybe that is why you see it talked about more.

It's my opinion that the Trophy system is better than the achievement system by design. The achievement points can seem a little diluted, 5p here, 15p there. Just seems kind of inflated. The trophy system counts up individual trophy's by quality, bronze to silver to etc. So you can see your results clearly. Not to mention they add up to attribute to an overall gamer level, which Level 18 is more identifying that 358315p. Another great thing is the ability to compare trophys among friends, that's not just comparing totals but individual games against friends. They both do essentially the same thing, but with the trophy system you have better interaction and therefore can be more fun to participate in, which is probably why it seems such a big deal on forums, because trophy's can be analyzed nicely.

I hate the trophies... "You get a trophy for starting the game!" "You get a trophy for learning how to hit X and jump!"

People that say trophies are worthless are just people with not many trophies so they try to feel secure. Ive only been playing since 2009 and only buying the games I like, I have 28 platinum trophies. Dont try to denigrate the platinum trophies just becoz you guys dont have them. It just shows we get bang for our buck and alot of replay value.

Its not a stupid system. It just gives me more and more reason to play the games I bought and get more bang for buck. Trophies gave me a reason to collect pearls and photograph every animal in Beyond Good and Evil HD, it just makes the game more challenging and fun.
