I think the second song is great. The Cadance/Chrysalis duet really made it for me. The others were enjoyable, but I didn't like them quite as much. I think that's because I really love villain songs in stuff like this (Be Prepared is my favourite from the Lion King, for example) and the second song fit in admirably as a villain-esque song; especially the reprise later on after the changelings have entered Canterlot. Also, I do love the Best Pet and Flim Flam brothers song and listen to them quite often, so that could explain why I love This Day Aria, even on its own.

My biggest problem was that the ending just sort of happened. The music during the Shining Armor/Cadance scene where her love brings his power back or whatever was incredible, but the scene itself just felt like it popped out of nowhere... and it was a pretty cliche way to defeat evil villain X (I am glad that the elements were not used, though). But really, I don't even mind it that much. The fight scene was totally epic (lol at Pinkie's Twigun), and I like Queen Chrysalis as a villain because she's just completely evil. Discord had a sort of humorous, chaotic evil while Nightmare Moon was eventually redeemed (as Luna), but Chrysalis is just flat out evil. And she looks cool (cue fanart!).

Also, Team Rocket's blasting off again!

Finally decided to catch up on the thread.  I loved the season finale, but I thought it was pretty random how Celestia was all like "Oh you're going down, punk, do you even know who you're messing with?" and then is defeated so quickly. 

I was wondering what let Chrysalis turn the battle around like that, and I had a little idea ... what if it was psychological?  Where did Chrysalis come from anyway?  Suppose Luna was possessed?  What if Celestia's will was undermined by a guilt trip from some comment Chrysails made about sealing her poor possessed sister in the moon for a millennium?

I know :( But the rest of it was paced really well, and it wouldn't have been as good if it was 3 parts imo

7 - The Perfect Stallion
8 - Face your Fears
9 - Love is in Bloom
10- This Day Aria

12- The Cutie Mark Crusaders

That's an album right there. Awesome stuff, all of it. We listen to that, then listen to To the Sky by Owl City then cap it off with some manly badass stuff by Duane and Brando to change it up. that's our happy days CD.

my brother is huge into Equine stuff, he's training to be a horse groomer and stuff, so naturally he likes the horsies in the show.  He may be a furry :P 

but seriously, he and I both agree, the reason we like the show is the characters.  We're both writers, so we;re both fond of well written, well developed, well adjusted characters.  his favorite is Applejack and my favorite is Rainbow Dash, and my second favorite is Applejack, and I think his second favorite is Rainbow Dash.

Rest I don't listen to. I'm extremely not a fan of This Day Aria everyone seems to love. But there are 20+ fanmusic tracks I'd rather listen to, such as:

I watch it with my brother but he's not nearly as into it as me. We're still going to play Fighting Is Magic against each other, because we've played Smash Bros. (64 -> Melee -> Brawl) continuously since 2000 and never against anyone else so our styles are probably only tuned to each other.

Mostly stuff I don't talk about on vgc anymore.

Do you happen to listen to the fanmade music too, or just the stuff from the show?
