I liked it. The random tourist being claustrophobic was a nice touch, although it seemed like a bait-and-switch on the matter of Rarity (who likely got the least screentime of the mane six)

I genuinely forgot there was one. As you might have already worked out I'm not following it like I used to. I'll watch it sometime later (watching a LP of Ni No Kuni atm)

I'm gonna be honest... I watched the first part, and then stopped about when they started welcoming the wrong pony.

I've been losing interest for a while (since a few months before season 3, and the opener failed to reignite it), but I believe that part of this massive sudden loss of interest is because in the last few weeks, I have seen my life improve drastically.

The other part is probably because the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has really picked up and is headed for what looks to be an epic finale, and it's pretty much captured all of my attention. After that, I'll be looking to the next season of Legend of Korra.

And of course, the loss of Fighting is Magic didn't help matters.

I guess I just don't really "need" the show anymore. It's no longer the bright spot of the week, because every day has just gotten a whole lot better. I came to this realization last night when I was cleaning up on my laptop (going through and deleting crap I don't need/want anymore), and I found myself putting MLP in that group. I didn't keep much; mostly just music and a bit of fanart (like this and this).

Perhaps we should agree to lock the thread after the finale?

No need. It'll die on its own, like many show-focused threads on this site.

Fortunately i've been getting into the TVTropes forums recently, indulging my need to discuss cartoons and anime.

You don't really get fandom, do you?  

And seriously, why lock it down because YOU lost interest.  Doesn't that make you shamelessly selfish?  What if others want to continue to discuss it after it's over?  Animorphs ended in 2002 and I still discuss it from time to time.  

And what finale?  the season 3 finale or the show finale?  we've already got a season 4 with 26 episodes confirmed, so it'll be at least another year before it's time to pack up and move on.  

Mine is not the only nor strongest post expressing disinterest.

And no, I have never 'got' fandom. The show, yes. Extra content by talented people, yes. Community spirit? Idolisation of a few fans? The ability to change your life? Never did understand.

The point is that it lives on.  What could possibly go through your head to make you think that it's okay to lock a thread because you and a few others lost interest?  all you have to do is stop returning to said thread.  You don't need to campaign for something that would ruin it for us all.
