Exactly. Not every community is perfect and I too like to stick to what's healthy. Specifically, I stick to what's canon and what is derived from it... logical implications or theories that are based on events in the show. I can't stand over analyzations of the show though. Especially the overly pessimistic stuff.
That's why I find myself reading the MLP official wiki more than anything. It's facts -everything you need to know about MLP and more. Stuf you may have noticed in the show and stuff you may have not. To me It's like science, I want the real info, not the fiction... and don't hate me guys, but I loathe fan fiction. And this is a personal matter or preference. I appreciate the creativity and the effort, but I can NEVER read fan fiction.
In the end it's just a guilty pleasure. I don't understand the need to critisice MLP at all. So I don't.

On topic, i know they say that the toy line is different than the show, but *damn* is the toy line different than the show. My internship asked me to go to Wal-Mart today to have a key made so i could come and go from the office as i pleased, and i stopped by the toy section. The side of the store stand featured none of the mane 6: but instead Candy Apple, Zecora, and some unicorn with a Berry cutie mark that looked like a palate-swap of Rarity.
Something looks off with the toy fluttershy, too. Toy Luna, meanwhile, has Twilight's color of mane, while Toy Celestia (as we've long known, i hope) is pink.
