The pilot isn't as good as the rest of the show. If you are willing to watch more (I'm not forcing you, it's something you have to decide for yourself ofc) then may I suggest at least watching episode 9? It gives a better idea of what the whole show will be like on the whole. If not at least you tried to watch the show ^O^

funny, any fan of the show agrees:  the pilot was probably the weakest couple of episodes in the entire series.  I found the first two episides boring, it doesn't get better till the show settles down on itself and is happy being cute and funny.  

For the record, I enjoyed the first two episodes, but I didn't think myself a fan until I'd watched the first 5 - the first two, although great in their own way, are really just explaining characters and backstory at heart

Oh I liked the first two but if I hadn't told myself I was going to watch at least 4 to judge it (I often find in shows with 20 min long episode you need to watch a few to get a proper gauge of it) I probably wouldn't have stuck with it. Now I am a proper brony, when I rewatch those episodes I get more out of them but not like I do with the other episodes.

I see a lot of fan fic/writings stuff going around here, That's not my cup of tea as Runa put it. I don't really read it... ever, but I encourage it. However, I do want to give back to the community. I'm more of a drawer.
