Here's an update from Mane6 about their reaction to the leak...

Basically, they feel they overreacted.

They don't want anyone to feel bad for downloading and playing the leak. (I won't still, but that's just my choice). They mention that we might get Dashie's theme relatively soon. The version in the livestream was apparently a very outdated one and the new one is somehow different (Rainbowcrash88 commented on the leaked version, which I saw on his feed before the comment was removed). We just need to wait for them to finish the splash art for it.

Beyond that, they're trying to explain why they reacted the way they did, and why it sucks that this happened. It's long, but it's fairly silly and lighthearted while getting the point across at the same time.

I'm confused...care to enlighten me?  

Someone leaked the EVO build (or something similar to that) of Fighting is Magic. The dev team posted a response (here) and it created a rather large divide among people who supported the devs' reaction and people who thought they overreacted. There was also a divide among people who decided to not play the leak, and those who decided to play it.

The link I posted was a response to the general reaction, and an explanation for why they reacted how they did and why they're upset about the leak.

Thanks for the clarification.  Sadly that game doesn't interest me.  

You're welcome. I've never really played any fighting games, but it looks like lots of fun (and it's free, so I have nothing to lose by trying it). I think the most exciting part for me is the music though.

I played the alpha with my brother yesterday and it was far too hard to do anything but basic moves. I wrongly expected it to be accessible because it had ponies in it; it might as well be a competitive fighter.

So I'm no longer interested.

I'm really looking forward to Fighting is Magic still :p
