Well, this isn't going to help anything...

Jerry Springer facebook. Tara telling everyone it's a terrible idea. Reddit post where I found this.

This will get some people to check out the show who have not before. Public perception is already very close to the position Jerry will take so I can't see how it would hurt. The "lover objects" thing means the person they bring on doesn't have to be 100% crazy as long as they can have a big argument on stage.

The people most likely to go onto the show are probably not going to be the normal ones. I don't really want to see some crazy person go on the show, because they'd likely confirm to everyone that bronies are all like people who go on Jerry Springer. I think it's a terrible idea all around, and there are far better ways to introduce people to the show.

That would be an episode worth watching.

Although i'm wondering what angle they're going to play. Make the brony look like the victim, or the brony's significant other?

Though i agree he shouldn't be doing this at all.

Oh I agree, but I'm hoping they are at least coherent.

The public already think the worst, they don't need it confirmed. Consider the reaction of telling everyone at school/work that you watch it.

And it will be worth watching. I gave Howard Stern ten minutes and that was funny.

@Mr Khan No question it will be the lover as the victim. The facebook post is phrased the other way around to attract calls.

ah.  much appreciated, but that kind of thing doesn't appeal to me.  Never liked the abriged series.  Can't stand the pony.mov stuff either.  listened to an interview with the guy who made that series and...well, let's say he's really, really intolerable.  I'd really like to strangle him after some of the stuff he said.

Like Fluttershy, I have a breaking point.

Oh well, different tastes, i just thought everyone should know of Sweetie Bot. I never really cared for any of the pony.mov stuff either, so you aren't alone there.

I do know that many people find the idea of bronies very disturbing, and that's why I think having a brony on Jerry Springer is bad. To them, it would probably falsly confirm what they have thought all along. That doesn't really help the rest of us who aren't crazy.

I will give you that. I found it funny as well.

I suppose we won't really know how it will turn out unless it happens. I don't think that it'll turn out well, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I wasn't sold on the series until Sweetie Bot. The bed song was good, but most of the first few episodes just felt a bit awkward to me. Then came Sweetie Bot.

Of course, this is under the assumption that anyone takes Jerry Springer at all seriously. Now, if they were pulling something like this on, say, Dateline (like pursuing the angle that some people assume we're pedophiles), that would be something.

It's not about whether or not they take the show seriously; people who automatically disregard bronies as something negative, then see a brony on the show probably wouldn't think "Oh, this is clearly fake and bronies are being represented poorly." They're more likely to think that bronies must just be like that and take it as confirmation. And it seems to me that people who don't know about bronies would just write the fandom off as a bunch of Jerry Springer like nutcases.

Obviously we don't actually know what the reaction will be, and I'm not saying that this is the worst possible thing that could happen. But I don't think that having a brony appear on Jerry Springer will be a good thing.

I once got called a pedophile for liking animated shows. I distinctly remember a time when I bought the movie Rio (the CG movie about birds doing samba or something :P), and the guy I was coming home with was like, "so, you're buying kids movies now. Are you some sort of pedophile or something?"

True story. I wish I was making that up.

Same thing happening with Ponies, though I admit I did used to think the same thing. to be fair, I only knew about the brony community through Rule 34 sites and other people who legitimately did just wanna have fun with the 'plot', so to speak. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Even the My Little Brony page on memebase had a lot of stuff that made me think there was a lot of perversion going on behind the scenes.
