Some of the games are not internally developed by the studios but all have their logo on the front and probably contributed to concept, artist, sound, graphics, ect, also these games are published by Sony Computer Entertainment, so I am counting as part of sales generated for WWS as well:

From 2007 till now, All of Sony's in house studio sold about 98.7 MILLION physical discs PSP and PS3 combined, not including PSN downloads.

 

I think overall, the WWS is profitable, looks like smaller EU studios and some American studios is not doing so well, otherwise things are looking good. Hope they expand even more in the future. They need a good in house RPG studio

Of course they are profitable ( maybe not all of them). if they wouldnt be profitable they would not release on game after another. I think the whole Gaming Sektion of Sony is profitable because of games like Gran Turismo, Uncharted and God of War. With the sells of to say an Uncharted 3 they can produce 5 cheaper titles like Patapon etc.



Interesting that the two studios involved with Motorstorm are either closed, or at risk of closing.

Maybe Sony should let them try a new IP. Motorstorm isn't what the market wants.

Sony needs to chop some of these studios. To many not carrying their weight.



Sony Bend and Cambridge are now just doing old IP stuff for PSP, which makes me sad, they use to create great IPs. Syphon Filter and MediEvil

Motorstorm Apocalypse's performance was butchered by the unfortunate earthquake that struck Japan last year. I know of actual fans of the games that didn't know it launched yet or exists.



Also I thought Liverpool was closed and the employees merged with another studio.

 Something like that, Sony had studios based in Liverpool and Warrington which are basically next to one another, so they merged them.  I think it's evolution based in Warrington, but could be someone else.
