I could be wrong but why is the Wii U "ONLY" going to be a Tri-Core CPU when the Power7 only comes in 4, 6, and 8 configurations?

A. We have no official word it's a tri core CPU to begin with.
B. Disabling a core could help production yeilds.

Hey, I wasn't even here when you posted that! So take it easy
No, WiiU is not going to be the steambox. Just no.
That being said, it's an interesting rumor, which fits perfectly with past rumors and the fact that Nintendo apparently has left 3rd parties to adopt the online aproach they wanted (maybe using steamworks too?).
Please excuse my bad English.

That's not what its saying.
"“@rothsothy: @TwoTribesGames Steamworks/Steam Cloud support! #tokitori2” Cross platform PC/Wii U saves! Wouldn't that be nice ;)"
Its saying PC and Wii U saves will work together... i.e. you buy it on Steam for PC play and Wii U for ... well Wii U play, but they will work accross one another. Same base.
This actually goes further in suggesting how Wii Us base will be. I'm thinking it will be very open and dev friendly and like Nintendo said will be very easy to put multiplatform games on. That is really good as it should mean we will easily get EVERY 3rd party game.

This is why I have it as 4 cores in my comparison thread. (see sig)
As of right now there is no confirmation either way, but I'm betting on 4 cores.
Guys, guys! This weekend Nintendo will have their 72th Fiscal Year Report, next week at PAX Gearbox will talk about Aliens (on Wii U also), April 26th the Nintendo Report where they can talk more about n" (Nintendo Network), plus the Nintendo Direct, leaks, and finally...

This isn't the first time that I see people speculating about Steam or Origin running on Wii U.
Methinks it's time I step up my game and start preparing for Nintendo's E3.
50 days until e3 I'll make a "Road to E3" thread.

It will have 4 cores, but, like the 3ds, one core will be used to run the OS and manage wireless functions.
Why is it even being considered to be anything but an 8th Gen. console? Congrats on the 550 posts IamAwesome! (I'm the 50!!) ^_^
