UncleScrooge said: Sorry if I just missed the news but has it been confirmed that you can import your Pokemon from Black/White and Gold/Silver? I've been thinking about buying Heartgold for months now and over the past week I've been at multiple retail stores checking availability (no luck yet...). Knowing I can transfer my Pokemon over to the new games would be great. You can transfer your Pokemon from Ruby / Sapphire to D/P and HG/SS right? If so that would be awesome as I still have a copy of Ruby somewhere as well The most annoying thing about new hardware generations is that often your options to transfer your Pokemon over are in doubt. If Nintendo just issued a statement saying "You will be able to transfer your Pokemon over to the new 3DS Pokemon games that will be out next year" I would put way more time into training my Pokemon. Anyone having detailed information on which games are compatible with newer ones? |
You can transfer pokemon between HeartGold/Soulsilver to Black/White once you finish the main story on B/W. You'll unlock extra routes on the eastern part of Unova and a "transfer lab".
In Black 2/White 2 you can transfer pokemon from Black/White once you earn your first badge or from Gen IV games once you defeat the Champion http://serebii.net/black2white2/compatibility.shtml.
As for Ruby/Sapphire to D/P and HG/SS it's possible to do so, once you reach the Pal Park areas http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/palpark.shtml http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/palpark.shtml

Thanks
I knew you could transfer your Pokemon from HG/SS to B/W but I wasn't sure about the other options. This is great news! I'll put more effort into hunting down a copy of HG now - always wanted to play those games... and go back to Kanto of course

You should really try to get one. HG and SS are pretty darn amazing (they have my favourite item interface of any pokemon game) .
I need to go back to my nuzlocke SS challenge, haven't touched it since I re-started Dragon Quest IX .

That is one pretty hardcore challenge, man Good luck!

Thanks . So far, I've passed the hardest spot in SS until the Elite 4, Morty's Gengar, without a dent to my team. Once I reach the Elite 4, it'll be an entirely different ball game. I'm planning to go reach Red in this challenge run, depending on how well I can keep my team going until then.
As for your other post, I was also part of the pokemon boom in the late 90's. I bought Pokemon Blue and started watching all the anime episodes in 1998, even though there weren't that many kids around me that also did the same, so it was a bit hard to find people that enjoyed pokemon or were available to trade. Once Gold/Silver came around, more people got into it and then it became much easier to trade.
I tried getting into the TCG game, but I didn't last long on it, because I became a huge Yu-gi-oh! TCG fan XD.
