@RavenXtra True that. I don't know how the Vita is going to survive in march. There's Ninja Gaiden, Silent Hill, MLB, and Unit 13. But Ninja Gaiden is an old PS3 game ported. Silent Hill is meh. MLB is a portable version of the PS3, if that does well. Unit 13 seems like it'll do fairly well, but 3G isn't for everybody.

Great number for Vita before the launch... I guess that is the best limited pre-launch ever for a console... I expected good numbers in the launch next week too.

The others consoles is just meh.

That is one of the launch weeks. It doesn't matter if this was a litle exclusive or not the 3DS still outsold it, at least the PSP didn't outsell it.

I'm sorry but why do people keep saying the vita's sales are pre-launch? Don't be deluded. They aren't at all. The Vita was available to the public.

It was simply a soft launch. The vita was still available to anyone who wanted one. You can't use ridiculous logic such as 'This week and next week should be combined'' or talk about how it is pre-launch. Trying to figure out how something being sold is pre-launch is maddening.

Soft launch does not equal pre-launch. Pre-launch would be before it was on sale. It was on sale so can't be pre-launch. It can only be pre-hard launch.

Can people still buy the first edition bundle? K-mart still has those old Pokemon DSis.

I don't see any value in owning the first edition bundle. 3G launch bundle sure, it should've been the first edition bundle instead, but you have to pay for the first month of 3g to get the second month free and Super Stardust Delta. Why wait a month to own a free game? Not excatly free since you can buy it for $15 now and not waste your time with AT&T.

@Zim I agree, but everybody wants to believe it's not, so I just say it's pre-launch.

Then sales for the official launch week starting 2/22 stands to be the largest increase between 1st and 2nd week sales for any gaming platform to date.

Early launch bundles were limited availability (select retailers only) both in numbers and location and anyone not trying to express fake surprise over the limited sales acknowledges this. 

I will say that I don't see why anyone would even suggest that early launch bundle sales should be grouped together with 1st week general release sales seeing as how they cover a period of more than one week. 

First month sales and any drop off trends in sales more than anything else will demonstrate the short term success of the platform more than opening week sales anyway.
