Forums - Gaming - Shopping insight

I need some insight from you all for a future episode i'm working on.

1. where do you like to buy your games and why?

2. How much does advertising actually factor into your decision to buy or not ?

3. Will you shop at a store you dislike if the price/bundle or special is better?

 4.  If you can, describe 1 bad shopping experience and 1 postive ?

thank you all, i wish i could give you something for your participation

thank you all

1. Probably works out to be about 50% Amazon and 40% CEX, the remaining 10% being the odd bargain at GAME or from eBay.

2. Advertising is only useful if it lets me know of a games existance that I wouldn't have found out about anyway... other than that I ignore it, or in the case of adverts that specifically get in the way (for example I checked some youtube vids on my parents laptop a couple of weeks ago, so I didn't have NoScript protecting me) I get annoyed and if I had intentions of buying anything, intrusive adverts would likely lessen my intent.
As such because I tend to follow most news about gaming adverts are generally pointless to me.

3. Yes, but as I have little reason to dislike a store other than it being expensive or not stacking what I want that kind of cancels itself out.

4. Err... I'm not gonna recall anything specific, when retail shopping I generally prefer to be in and out with a minimum of fuss, in other words I don't need a store assistant to say anything other than hello unless I want to ask a question.

1. Bestbuy about 75%, online with Amazon and eBay the other 25%.

2. Does not affect me too much, except for putting them on my radar.

3. Depends on the store, I don't like Walmart but it also depends on the deal.

4. Nothing important enough to remember for negative.
For positive - I went to this one store called GamesPlus (Similar to Gamestop) and I was waiting in line for a while. I forget exactly what the situation was but it was a friendly atmosphere and when it was my turn I jokingly made a comment about getting a coupon and the manager happily handed me one. However I haven't even been back into the store since then and that was a year ago lol.
