No point to the 3G personally unless you do not own a smartphone. I'll get a Wi-fi then trade it in for an inevitable 4G SKU in the next few years.

I imagine Wifi will win this easily

When Vita's problems in Japan are solved, I'll definitely buy the Wi-fi version. No point in 3G for me - since it's not for gaming, just for stuff any phone does today.

I even doubt a future 4G version will be capable of on the move gaming - bar simple games.

Well I guess it depends on country but here 3G version was quite close behind wi-fi in sales rankings plus 3G units will be sold through mobile operators.

I went for the WiFi version myself.

i got the 3G but only because of the amazon deal. i have no intention of using the 3G but for such a nominal cost (after pre-order bonuses) i decided to just go for it to ease my "what if..." worries.

Looking at the PSN ads in Wal-Mart and Gamestop, it makes it seem like, with 3G, you can remote play your PS3 with your Vita no matter where you are. I know this isn't the case but it's making me want to go with a 3G model. I'm getting mine in a few hours. Wi-Fi, of course.
