Forums - Sony - Playstation Account Question (Vita/PSP Related)

These are the factors

-I have a PS3, PSP, and a ton of games.  My daughter also has a PSP.  As we share my account, whenever I buy a game from the PSN, I also put it on her PSP.

-You were allowed to share a single purchase with up to five PSP's at one point.

-With that knowledge, I also shared my PSP games with three of my co-workers.  Since that time, one of them promptly had his PSP stolen and the others no longer work with me.

-I now have three PSP's, that I will never see again, associated with my account.

-I want to buy a Vita and port all of my existing PSP games to that console.

-I'm also greedy.  I want to keep the games I already own available on my current PSP.  I may never connect it to the PSN again but it's still got a ton of content on it.

Bottom line:  I want to keep all of the current content accessable on mine and my daughter's PSP's.  I also want to put the content on my soon to be purchased Vita.  How do I do this?

Try to go to playstation.com login with your account go to my devices tab and them my psp system - there will be option to deactivate them.

I haven't shared anything so i only have single psp there but you should have see all sstems where your account was activated

Well.  That was easy.  Thanks!

I cannot find such an option on that webpage, where is it exactly?

Go here, sign in and delete the devices you don't want.  I deleted everything and then just reactivated my PS3.  Still should be able to use the Vita when I get it, too (though it counts as a PSP).  https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/pc/login.action

And all of the other devices don't lose a thing.  Everybody wins!

but my older PSP spoiled how to deactivate it without connect to PC...

Choose "deactivate all devices".  Then, just connect your other devices to the PSN.  I didn't connect to the net, either.  I don't want to lose anything I have on my current PSP.  I'll just copy my game saves to my PS3 and redownload everything to PS3 and transfer to the Vita.  It's perfect!

Remember, you can only choose to deactivate all devices once, every six months.

oh didn't know there's such an option, thanks a lot... ^^

Will I lose anything deactivating? or do I simply reactivate again on my ps3

I don't think I lost anything.  I can't check right now since somebody is watching Netflix on the PS3.  I suspect that, as long as you use you account, everything associated with it should still be available.  According to Sony, once you create an account, it's there forever.  Even if you delete it from your system.

You know what sucks? Out of the five PSP's in my name, three of them had comics or movies on them. I did the thingy where I cancelled all of my Playstations (PS3, five PSP's) and all was well. The three PSP's that I'll never see again are no longer a problem when it comes to games.

Movies? Well, that's another problem. I had a few hundred comics on my PSP. The Vita doesn't support comics at all, yet (there's a possibility that it may never support them). I still read those comics. My kid has a lot of cartoons from the PSN on her PSP. One of the other PSP's had some comics, too.

With my PSV, I'm not allowed to buy content or download videos from the video store unless I cancel one of the other PSP's. Yes. I AM NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE SONY MY MONEY AND PURCHASE NEW VIDEO CONTENT UNLESS I CANCEL ANOTHER PSP'S ABILITY TO VIEW VIDEO. Do I cancel my kid's PSP? She likes watching Invader Zim and stuff on her PSP. Do I cancel my PSP? That means that over 300 comics that cost anywhere from $1-$5 each are now un-viewable. Do I cancel the 3rd PSP? I would if it weren't stolen two years ago. I can either go without watching video (at least legal video and not the stuff I steal from Frostwire) on my PSV, I can rob my kid of her videos, or I can piss away $600 worth of virtual comic books.

No win situation.
