Decent but uneventfull race, didn't see anything with Hamilton's car that would cause him not too finish the race, so that was a pretty weak retirement.
Good job by Alonso, Button and Vettel.
Next one up soon, will predict soon. :)

Good race but bit of an anti-climax at the end. I say this because in so many races past tyre wear came into play on the last 4 laps big time, with drivers coming through from the back to take podiums.
I was hoping for the same today with lotus.
Awesome My Racer Kamui Kobayashi gets promoted to 4th place after Vettel gets 20second punishment for overtaking while not on the track!
bring on Budapest! KK has shown race winning pace for the last 2 races now! just need to get a good quali in there!

Fair punishment for Vettel. I know some will cry foul saying swapping his place with Button would be enough but that's how things are. Retributive theory: besides compensating the victim, a price needs to be paid to avenge the broken norm.
Last year we had But, Vet and Alo for top three on Hungary. I wouldn't be surprised if this year turned out to be exactly the same. McLaren is usually pretty good there, and Button specially so.
Yes, Vettel should be penalised but 20sec is a bit OTT. If he had done it earlier during the race he would have had a drive through penalty which is only 12sec resulting with him probably taking third.
It should be the time taken for a drive through regardless of when the offence occurs.
Lotus for hungary.

I was right on Ferrari and McLaren for this race, if it stayed dry I knew they would perform. Juts a pity the idiotic race controller didn't put a safety car out to clean off the massive amount of debris from the 1st lap collision. otherwise Hamilton would have been up there. |
Very true, but I don't think he would have done as well as Button personally. But who knows. He may have come 4th or 5th, I suppose, but there was only a small amount, and he was the only one to suffer from a puncture. Just bad luck?
I'm sure that if Vettel and Marko didn't said what they said after Valencia Safety Car, they would have deployed it. It's a lose-lose situation, some people would bitch if they deploy it, some people would do if they don't.
