Sorry if my Pounds to Dollars rate is wildly off. The point still stands.

What point?  That people won't spend Just over £200 on exercise equipment.

Don't agree with that at all.  People spend £50 a month on gym subscription.  That's about average I'd say.

Also, the running machines, exercise bikes etc that people buy are not cheap at all.

And if you think that Westerners will buy this game by the millions when the Wii itself is massively shortaged, you're sadly mistaken.

Why do you think it appeals to the Japanese market but won't to the Western market?

Because the kind of Westerners that Wii Fit appeals to do not stand in line for for a $250 console and a $100 game every third Sunday when they are available.

The Japanese do.

 I think you're being facetious.

No, I'm not. I honestly believe that the Wii cannot support the kinds of numbers that people are predicting for both SSBB and Wii Fit. I don't think the Wii's demographic can fulfill them both.

It's not an insult on the Wii, it's actually a compliment on its groundbreaking demographic. I just don't see how it can happen.

If you read my other points, part of my reasoning lies in the fact that the Wii is supply-restrained. Paying 50 pounds for gym membership is one thing but Wii Fit is not exercise. I don't doubt that it will sell initially but I think it will dry up quickly in Western countries.

Listen, we can argue this all we want but we'll all know how it plays out quite soon.

Neither is paying £50 a month for a gym and never using it.

But lots and lots of people do it.

If you think stepping and standing on a 2" board, checking your balance and putting your hands in the air is exercise, you need to go run a mile. Or four.

BTW, I would just like to take this time to point out how infuriating it is on this forum to challenge one of Nintendo's sacred cows. Open your eyes, just two years ago Nintendo was struggling to gain marketshare. Not everything they have done since then is going to break every record known to the industry.

Like I keep saying, let's be realistic. If someone wants to challenge my predictions on merit, go ahead. Just stop living in the euphoria of Nintendomination.

Watch the videos on http://www.wiifolder.com/tours.html

There's a lot more to WiiFit than you think, and there's a lot more to exercise than you think. Exercise is not just lifting weights, chopping logs and running miles.

From every report I've heard, Rocket, Wii Fit is a serious workout and can really kick people's ass. Have you heard differently? Because I've heard anecdotal reports from 4-5 people and ALL of them agreed that it can give you a workout.

But yeah, I don't mean to make this harder for you, because I agree, it's tough attacking one of Nintendo's major franchises here. From what I've heard, it may or may not be fun, but it's definitely exercise.

I have seen the videos, thanks. They're still not real exercise.
