Youtube user "andrewg1990" broke the previous world record by aproximately ten seconds. Watch and FEAR!:
He also claims that this record will never ever be beaten by a single second!
Thoughts?

He could shave off a second per flag jump if he jumped low.

I don't think so.
If he could save time with that he'd do it.

No. It's true. I always try to jump high even if it takes me 5 seconds extra. It's natural instinct.

Nothing against you, but I trust Andy G. more than you on this one.
That guy has played Mario for so long, he always beats his own record, and if he could save even half a second by jumping low, he'd do it.
I just don't believe that he'd overlook something so simple.

It could just be honest mistake. Time it, when Mario slide from the top down to bottom.

No matter at which height you land on the flag you still have to wait for it to come all the way down though. But maybe you're talking about something else.

It isn't a mistake.
I don't know if you realize how much time that guy has sunk into that Mario game. Just google him and you'll understand.
The flag has to go down either way. Even when you touch the flag pole low the flag still takes time to come down.
And that's why jumping on top actually saves you time: The distance from the top of the stairs to the top of the flagpole is shorter than from the top of the stairs to the bottom of the flag pole.

Just what I say.
