Why doesn't Sony promote their mascot outside of Japan?

I think SCEA had something against mascots after Polygon Man bombed into oblivion, which might explain why Crash was never an "official" mascot despite practically being the face of the PS1. I guess Toro and Kuro got caught in that silly stance.

Speculation, of course.

They're a tad too Japanese for Western tastes I'd imagine.

Just give them footballs as weapons and they'll do fine in America.

Had I know they had those cats, I might have bought a PS3.
