What are your views on the Nevada caucus? Something just doesn't seem right...

There has been reason to grumble about every primary and causus since Iowa.   No surprise it has continued in Nevada.    I expect it to play on like that all the way to the convention.

He is not a serious candidate! How many times do you have to be told this? You have been issued a perfectly good choice, now shut up and choose it!

The results are in line with the opinion polls done beforehand (538's weighted average was 15%, actual result 19%). Unless they are suggesting the polls were all fraudulent too.

Really I just think the number who vote in primaries is so small (30k out of 2.5m) that tiny factors influence the outcome a lot. Also it's incredible how much money is spent to get that 30k to decide, more than $50/vote.

Hmm... I really don't know. As you say, weighted opinion polls showed that Paul did better than expected... but when some of those polls are being conducted by the likes of CNN (who, as that video shows, conveniently "forget" Paul at every given opportunity), there is place to worry.

My suspicion really comes from the fact that Nevada is one of the most libertarian states in the union, and that the Paul campaign worked particularly hard. I didn't think a win was likely, but second was in the bag. I didn't think Paul's vote would grow by much (as a libertarian state... he would have won lots over the first time round).. but 1%, after his massive gains in all previous states (including an 80%+ gain in Florida, where he didn't even campaign), just doesn't seem likely.

I think what is most suspect about it all, though, is that the chairwoman of the Nevada GOP resigned the day after the election, and the fact that it took 3 days to count so few votes.

Whether or not the fraud is true doesn't matter, the media won't report on it in a very serious way, and if the Paul campaign comes out about it, I'm sure it'll just get dubbed with the "conspiracy theory" hat again.

At least if the media isnt giving him attention, rogue videos and sites do mention him like this.

The vast, vast majority of the population will never see this content. Most people still consume their media through the television. Those with Internet, and who are tech savvy, mainly just go to the websites of the same companies. Only a very small demographic of voters (non apathetic youths) have any kind of chance of accessing the free media.
