I do not see the point of having to pay to use my internet connection. I could care less if its only 40$ a year or w.e, i could save that money to buy another game. The people who say xbox has better online connections are the ones who play cod all day and don't realize that activision obviously favors the xbox more.

Ohh yeah! Ofcource. Here we go again. Do you also know that DICE also favours the Ps3 more than Xbox 360?

I bet you didnt know that!

Problem is, I hope Sony charges at least something next Gen for online so they can make more profits. Just hope they give more options like being able to buy a certain number of hours rather than just monthly plans.

No, Online gaming should be free, period. It has been free on PCs for years (MMOs nothwithstanding). Everyone else is free. BUt MS charges?? Yeah its not alot, but what happened to people's principals???

While im at it, WTF do you get for Silver?? I've asked my xbox friends, but they either have gold or they just dont use thier 360 anymore and have no idea

With Silver you can download demos (although most of the time later than Gold members). Don't know if there's anything else

So, its pretty much useless???

you obviously have never played it on the ps3 then lol.

I dont think its about favortism. I play COD on PS3 and 360 and i honestly dont see a difference.

As for people, they are ignorant, anyone who believes Live has better connections is ignorant. It all comes down to the specific game. Each company has their own servers. Im sure each game has its own servers. Some will suck (KOF12), some wont (SSF4) no matter what the system

Xbox live is free this weekend in Canada. I'm not going to run out and rent some multiplayer games, but it gave me time to check out all the video apps. To be shocked by the low quality video and very limited selection we get here. (Still no fix to the washed out colors and black level btw)

Only You Tube had reasonable quality. My own HD videos didn't look like total crap like they come out in the ps3 browser. (seems to be stuck on 240p in the ps3 browser) The sound is still distorted though, like somebody cranked up the bass to maximum.

Anyway a weekend is not going to convince me to get gold or buy any multiplayer games for 360.

I also really don't see much of a problem with it either. I don't like paying 60 dollars a year either just to be able to play online however I have the other consoles as well and in relation I see much faster seek times on xbox live in comparsion to psn. I'm far from an xbox fanboy however in some ways its does help put frosting on the cake.

Yeah, what's the point? Does BF3 have better connections on 360?

Hrmm.. im not sure actually. Im an australian gamer and I can play in the UK servers with "3 bars" of connection (Half way around the world) while my Ps3 can barely connect to the UK servers with one bar of conection and often get disconnected within the first 10 minutes.

So, yeah..

Anyway, I just got a little bit angry that riderz is just calling every xbox 360 player that like XBL, CoD players.

Yay!!!

Nothing to do with the topic but: I owned two PS1's, three PS2's, two PSP's, a PS3, and I plan to buy a PSV as soon as Gravity Daze launches. I never owned an original Xbox but I prefer Xbox Live by far. I've been paying for it for four years, too. I don't even own CoD MW3, Forza 4, or Halo Anniversary and I have no desire to play any of those titles. What would you consider me?

The fact that Microsoft doesn't give Silver members the ability to play online tells me that they don't want people to know there is nothing special about Live. If they gave silver members the ability to play online, I would have absolutely no complaints. Microsoft is dragging the community down by making us think it's okay for something like multiplayer to be a privilege. If Nintendo and Sony follow suit, I will curse Microsoft for changing how we play games.

For those who say "it's only $5 a month!," basically you are accusing everyone of being too cheap. What has happened with people's standards? Why is something free ever a bad thing? You're still paying Microsoft so you can play YOUR games, no matter how cheap it is. PS Plus is the more sensible route by charging a premium for extra features on top of playing online.

Lol I would never pay to play online. The PSN is awesome, the only thing that I dont like is the slow XMB, and PS3s limitations like no X game chat, but when PSVita and PS4 launches those wont be a concern anymore.
