I'm just not interested in this kind of stuff. But if you know your audience, then cater to them, not someone who could care less about captions.

For example, I play forum mafia. Some users know that and may remind me when there's a sign up thread. I don't find an issue with that. I find issue with the random wall post with the ad-like agenda.

You're a little late to the party. That caption is pretty good, but now we've moved on to voting apparently. You should submit a caption again when a new picture is up, unless this thread is abandoned in similar fashion to the previous one.
